Google Personalised (http://www.google.com/ig)
So is this Google turning in to a follower, and copying Microsoft, Yahoo etc? I think it is pretty good, much better than other portals as doesn't look cluttered. I have never bothered with personalisation but think I might use this, especially as I can have my gmail account on the Google home page.

I think its pointless and... well thats just it. I see no point. I like google beacuse of its simplicity and straight to the point design.

Me too, - it would be sad to see Google turn into just another blahoo portal, but recruiting people like Marc Lucovsky from Microsoft seems to point in that direction.

I stopped using other search engine/bots (whatever you wanna call them) and starte using Google coz it has absolutely nothing else than a box to type in and few links I don't care about but can live with.
If I want the weather, I either look out my window or go on a weather site, If I want stock market I'll go on a stock market webby ... Note to Google, mother's abbreviation is Mum, not Mom, stupid americans.
I don't like combined stuff !
Just to add, it always going to be on/off service. In that you can either turn it on or off. For me I like been able to seem my emails as soon as my homepage comes up.
Don't quite see the point myself.
There's enough "portals" on the go;).

Dmoz (http://www.dmoz.org) offers a simpler interface, and it's where Yahoo, Google etc, get their raw web directory listings from.
It's also a lot simpler to IF with to get "on the fly" data for use on your own website/domain;).
Question about google ? latley when i've googled something a few days later i get a catalog in the mail with my full name and address on it on the product i've googled, now how do they know ?
I don't order anything or give out ANY info, i'm not on the site long enough to even show much interest on what i'm reading, yet they seem to know who i am, i think it's quite scaring.
