I've lost my dog tonight! He has escaped somehow from the garden and disappeared! I've walked the streets looking for him but no joy! Doberman cross, green camoflage collar, mainly black in colour, brindle legs. Name is Jack.

He is microchipped so I'm hoping he'll turn up somewhere. I've rung 101 and reported it to them.

Shirecliffe area.

:help::help::help:

Update on 30th October
Jack is still missing.
Spotted on Saturday 25th walking down Rutland Road and later on Infirmary Rd nr Tesco. Not seen since...unless you know different!?

Posters are up all over Shirecliffe. Various forummers have offered to put posters up around the city. All postmen have been informed who cover the S5 area to look out thanks to my sympathetic postie. All neighbouring city council dog pounds have been informed and any dog rescue place which Google could turn up.

If you have some pics then put him on this website

www.doglost.co.uk

It is a fab site and there are registered helpers who live in every area, they help to search and download posters to put up for you. Dogslost also contact rescues, pounds, kennels etc to email posters and pull out all the stops to find your dog.

Good luck I hoope he turns up soon.

101 were utterly useless. The operator said they would search their database to see if anyone had called in and let me know. Then the police at Hammerton Rd called me at 7am to say the police don't deal with dogs anymore and to try the dog warden. I said I knew it wasnt a police matter, but expected the council to handle this. The PC said that 101 is a police service not Council, which is wrong!!! It's advertised as both police AND council!!

Anyway, i was given the number of the dog warden which i rang only to find out it's a Mon to Fri 9-5 service! There was a mobile number to ring if you have found a dog, which I rang but it didn't work!

What do I do next, I'm going frantic????

Ring the dog pound.

Which is your nearest police station? It's worth popping in in person, rather than ringing. I know the operators say the police don't handle lost dogs, but some local stations do (unofficially) and have one kennel where they hold them for a few hours then pass them on to the pound. If your dog has gone through them they'll have a description written down, and they probably will take your detais just in case anyone does try to hand your dog in to them.

Other than that, make sure you post on dog lost, then print the poster off and stick it up everywhere.

Good Luck.

I managed to get the phone number at the pound to work, it's an out of hours number that just takes you to an answering machine. I left a message. Just walked right round the area shouting his name and drove the wider area. No sign.

My nearest station is Oxspring bank but as it's an SNA it tends to be unstaffed at weekends :(
Hammerton Road is the next nearest but they said they don't deal with dogs.

What's worrying me is that he may be at the pound. If someone has picked him up and he's been put there, it's likely he'll be there until Monday when I can get to speak to someone. Does anyone know if there's a phone number which will go straight through to the kennels? I'm assuming there are people who work there at weekends?

I tried Cliffe kennels but they don't deal with stray dogs.

Sorry for no update, I've been out at work all evening. Still no sign of him. We spent the afternoon walking the area and driving around, but no sign.

How does this microchip thingy work? He was microchipped when I got him as a rescue dog. Surely if the pound or some other rescue place get hold of him then they'll scan him, my details come up and they make contact with me, or is it more complicated than that?

I've filled in the form on the Council's website, so does that constitute me as having reported Jack as missing?

I filled in the form on Doglost website. The poster that the site generates is pretty poor so I'm going to design something else. Not had time yet, been too busy scouring the area!

Another question...if a dog has been injured and found. Where would he likely to be taken?

I can't help but wonder that someone has taken him to their home and is keeping him there - either claiming him as their own, or waiting for the Council to reopen on Monday. Trying to picture Jack being safe and warm somewhere is helping me come to terms with this. It's horrible, I feel like I'm grieving!!

Surely if the pound or some other rescue place get hold of him then they'll scan him, my details come up and they make contact with me, or is it more complicated than that? That's a tough one, but the best answer is probably to ring the chip company and check all your details are up to date, give them a current mobile number, and hound every agency listed on the sticky at the top of the group

if *and I hope to god this hasn't happened* he's been run over, it's the cleansing department who deal with it, but they are not currently legally obliged to scan for a chip. If he was run over on the M1 the highways department would be obliged to scan, but on local roads this isn't the case :loopy:

Have you got pics for us yet Buffy?

If you don't like the doglost posters do your own and get them out everywhere!

many people are reluctant to hand a dog into the pound as they know there's a risk of destruction if not claimed, or they just don't know the system to take them in and look after them, waiting for somebody to come looking

Hi Im sorry to hear about Jack going missing. I hope he is found soon.

It may be worth ringing the emergency vets at attercliffe just in case he has been injured and taken there. The number is 0114 2421929, but if he has been taken there they should have scanned him anyway for a chip.

Good luck!!!

Surely if the pound or some other rescue place get hold of him then they'll scan him, my details come up and they make contact with me, or is it more complicated than that? Its not complicated at all but that depends on who he is registered to. Contact the rescue and ask them if their dogs are registered to them, or to the new owner, as the chip company will contact whichever details they have.

Another question...if a dog has been injured and found. Where would he likely to be taken? If a dog is found injured then most people would take him to a vet. Vets usually ask the finder if they are prepared to take the dog on and cough up the bill. If the answer is no then the vet will only give immediate pain relief and then pass onto a rescue or council, who will agree to take on the responsibilty. Vets usually have a chosen rescue who they use.

I'm most distressed by the comment that you could ring the local pound and they don't go and look. Is it OK to just turn up there to look? It says on the Council website you have to make an appointment. What if he's there! What if they think they can rehome him and make some money out of it so don't want to say he's there!! Worried now, very!

I rang the pound this morning at 9am, they said he didn't ring a bell but if I've filled in a dog lost report online then they'd look out for him (which I have).
I also rang all the vets - no joy.
Dog Lost keep ringing - a woman in Liverpool. She has designed a poster for us to put on lampposts. Now, I know she has good intentions and it's more than likely a voluntary service, but the poster came through in Word Pad format and was full of errors, such as 'Jack is in green camoflage'. I have visions of him in a full army outfit!
'Jack is from Shirecliffe, Rotherham'. Ummm.....

My husband has redesigned the poster and it should be up around the area later.

I've heard back from StreetForce, they've not picked up a dog matching the description of Jack in my area.

So...if he's not in the pound, vets don't know anything and he's not been found by Streetforce I can only think he's either lying injured (or worse) somewhere remote or someone has taken him in and are hanging on to him for some reason.

You won't believe my stress levels!

I agree with pink fairy - identifying breeds isn't an accurate science at dog pounds in general. I've seen a beagle listed as a JRT cross on a rescue website before, and a spaniel listed as a collie cross thanks to the markings

Jack could find himself listed as a Rott cross with those markings!

We went to the pound today, no joy. I've commented on this in another thread.

I also listed a thread in the Sheffield Discussions part of the forum but it was pulled by the Mods, plus my advert in the Lost and Found section was also pulled. Can't understand why - something about multiple threads and being unfair on others.

Anyway, before it was pulled someone sent me a PM to say they had spotted him on Infirmary Rd, nr Tesco on Saturday. So, he made it all the way through Hillsborough, all the way down there!

This was Saturday, we're going to take a drive down there, just in case, although I suspect he's probably on the other side of the city by now.

Just driven around the area where he was spotted. Nothing (plus it's dark!).

He was spotted there on Saturday, so is probably a long way from there now considering Sunday and Monday and just about all of Tuesday has been passed.

I could end up fliering and postering the whole of the city at this rate....then would no doubt get fined for fly postering.:o Logistically the area where he was spotted 3 days ago is a huge estate. Realistically I think all I can do is wait. By the sounds of it he is moving around.

On his own.

He is medium sized. Similar size to a lab or retriever, maybe slightly smaller and more slender.Great stuff - so it's a much better chance that it's him that's been spotted, and not a similar dog maybe from his litter and owned by somebody else!

does he know the area he was spotted in at all?

He couldn't be working his way somewhere in particular could he? We're not going to spot him near the Classic Rock Bar are we?

Classic Rock
28-10-2008, 21:29
I don't know where his litter originated from. The person who spotted him told me they looked at the collar and it was the same one I've described.

He won't know Infirmary Rd, he never goes there.

He's not been back to the Classic Rock Bar area since he left there so if he got there it would be accidental. He's not followed any route back there on foot or by car. Its been 3 years since he was there last. Nice idea though.

I've started a new thread in General Discussions about dogs roaming - lets see what comes of it.

OK let me check if this is right:
He went missing on Friday night in Shirecliffe...
Was seen on Saturday on Infirmary Road...

By that reckoning, I definitely don't think anyone should be assuming he's stuck to the hillsborough area... he could be as far as Graves Park if he wanted to!

Did he go missing from the East side of Penistone Road? Just checking whether he is nervous of main roads or not. If he crossed Penistone Road to get to Infirmary Road, then he's not avoiding main roads so not confined to the Walkley/Crooksmoor area bounded by A-roads.

I think it's worth putting posters up all around Sheffield hun.

Can you Email me your poster? I can put it up at Norfolk Park today and Graves Park at the weekend, and forward it to my friend who walks around the Endcliffe Park & Eccy Rd area.

Yes, he has crossed Penistone Road. He's not streetwise and I've always kept him on a lead when we've been anywhere near traffic, so who knows how he's coping with it!

He's always been a 'stay in the house where it's warm' dog as well, so this cold weather will be affecting him. :(

Feeling really frustrated that I'm stuck at work and can't get out there looking for him.

KATIEB_23

Yes, he has crossed Penistone Road. He's not streetwise and I've always kept him on a lead when we've been anywhere near traffic, so who knows how he's coping with it!

He's always been a 'stay in the house where it's warm' dog as well, so this cold weather will be affecting him. :(Aww poor baby :( That sounds exactly like Gadget... but don't worry, physically he can cope with this cold weather (even if its not his preference) Gadget hates the cold... today when we left for work he was on the sofa with a duvet over him  but before we got him he was a stray for god knows how long over Christmas time when it was snowing.

We got a call from a man this afternoon, Jack was spotted on Rutland Rd on Saturday morning heading down the hill. The man said he realised he was a stray as he was so clean and shiny and tried to call him. Jack ran off from him. He had spotted the posters so thought he'd call up. So Jack must have crossed Penistone Rd at the bottom of Rutland Rd and got to Tesco that way.

All the posters I've put up in bus shelters have been ripped down :(

Bus stop posters are removed by the transport people. There was one on the bus shelter near our house which was 'cleaned' off

the buses have clear 'pockets' on their windows, which a couple of drivers let me put microchipping leaflets in for the RSPCA. There's no harm in asking a few drivers on popular routes if they can display posters for you. That'll get his face round the city pretty quickly

Well it was tea time and it was a grassy area a field or a park, he didn't have a collar on but I remembered the pic and he came to me, I had to take him home on the bus, and took pictures so that I could check on here it was the right dog.

was it a large grassy area or small? was it elevated or bounded by trees? Anything odd in the background like tennis court chain link?

Buffy - did his collar not have any form of ID on it?

Like a grassy bank actually but I think part of a larger grassy area, he was just sort of hanging about there, his collar was missing.
I think it was a built up sort of area but I'm sorry I can't remember more now, I never thought much more about it, and think it is because I had been thinking about it before I went to bed

I know this must seem like a very long time for him to be missing, but take some hope that other dogs have been found after extended periods of time.

Perhaps, if you summarised everything that's been done, where posters have gone up, sightings etc and modified your original post each time, it would make it easier for people to access the latest information immediately. Not everyone will read through the whole thread after it's gone onto a few pages.

Everything is crossed that you have him home soon.

how about doing a thread on the main boards for dream interpretation? (just ignore the trolling replies, we do have dream interpreters here occasionally ;) )

My guess would be that the significance of him not wearing his collar may just be that somebody else has taken him in, the collar signifying that he belongs to Buffy

Strix - I'm sure I mentioned it somewhere, but no, he had no ID on his collar. He used to, but it fell off recently (a tag) and it was one of those things I wish I'd gotten round to sorting out. Just checking you tried Millhouse Animal Sanctuary when you phoned rescues- they have a lot taken in there and I'm thinking it's fairly close to Hillsborough, it wouldn't surprise me if they don't routinely scan either.

I'll get some posters up, not sure where I will be next few days but will let you know where.

Is there anywhere you walk your dog often that he might be heading too.

As far as that bank Moonbird, the only bank that sprang into my head is that little one nearish yours KatieB_23, behind that odd building towards Castle College. Then I thought and thought and Bolehills came into my mind but that's about it.

I've lost track of where posters are now. The kindness of the Forummers who have put them up is outstanding.

I rang frantically round a lot of kennels and rescue centres at the time when he went missing but they all said they don't take in stray dogs. I think they take them from the pound once the 7 day rule is up in order to find them homes.

We did the tour of the RSPCAs at the weekend - Halifax, Chesterfield.
We also went to Thornberry and to Rain Rescue, but all we came away with was a parking ticket outside Rain Rescue

Dog Lost have kindly bumped the lost notification back up to the top of the list.

I've emailed the dog wardens again today plus a local PCSO in the hope the word can go out.

Feeling despondent. It's gone on for too long now. He's not coming back, is he?:cry::cry:Some people give up when they know for sure

Some people set a time limit and decide that's that

Some run out and get a new dog within a week

It depends on the relationship between you and your dog, and your confidence in his ability to either cope alone or charm his way to somebody else's fireside

Give him another week Buffy, and if you think it's best, say your goodbyes to him

You've said you'd considered another dog whilst you still had him. Don't run out and get a new one straight away. If he does find his way home in the next month or so, you could have problems between the two of them

Classic Rock
03-11-2008, 20:54
I think after 8 years he'll not be 'my Jack' anymore and wouldn't remember me. It would be strange.

As for the parking ticket, we parked on the road across from MVS. There were a lot of leaves on the road and we didn't realise we'd parked on double yellows. Seemed an odd place to have them as it's such a quiet side road and we weren't obstructing plus we were parked behind a lot of other cars. Rotherham Council traffic wardens appeared in a white van and even though we pleaded they still issued it. I wanted to insult him by connecting him to his mother (son of a...), but being outside a dog rescue place didn't feel it appropriate!

Sorry, disagree with that. It has nothing to do with the relationship I had with him. We had a fantastic relationship but being utterly helpless and unable to find him I have to be realistic. Whether I think he can cope on his own or whether I'm confident he'll have found a new home, I'll never settle until I know what has happened to him BUT being realistic means I need to shelve those emotions. I could be walking the streets day and night but that's not practical either. It has been 10 days. I've done the rounds, walked the streets and done all the practical things I can think of. The Forummers have been great and put up posters. It's irrelevant what kind of relationship I had with Jack, if I can't find him. I can't find him. :(

Again, I'm afraid I disagree on both things here.

I'll never say my goodbyes after a week, month or year. I'll always be looking out for him whether I'm walking or driving.

On the other point about getting another dog, it's not planned (although I do keep falling in love with the rescue dogs!), however the Jan Fennel technique of introducing a second dog into the home is one I've used on a couple of occasions in recent years and it has worked very successfully. It's down to establishing pack leadership and bonding.

I know in your shoes I'd be witless CR :(

Brude has five different phone numbers on his tags, plus 'I'm chipped' as I'm so paranoid about losing him on any of our trips out of town

I'm worried that if he was lost whilst visiting family (especially at the beach near Mr Strix's parents') somebody would assume he'd been dumped if he sported a Sheffield phone number, so he has their's on too so he looks local

One of my ex-fosters had my numbers on him for months afterwards, whilst his 'mum' moved house and got herself settled again. Bloody good job too - she lost her phone, but was able to ask the dog for my number, then have me forward a heap of her most important numbers back again :hihi:

If his personality is anything like Clive's (the dog he looks uncannily like), then he'll be having an absolute ball scavenging about on his own

Dogs are amazingly resourceful. Brude made himself a nest in an overgrown flowerbed at a bonfire party at the weekend, tucked his nose between his paws, and went to sleep (with one eye on the fire). Clive was a street dog for quite some time before he was rehomed via the RSPCA

Do you have a list of dog wardens in the neighbouring areas? being missing for this long means he could have wound up further afield, and if he has the worst could happen if they're not notified you're looking for him :(

I've just spoken with a neighbour who says he saw a dog, slightly smaller than a labrador, doberman markings in Crookes Valley Park yesterday afternoon!

He only saw it from the other side of the park so can't say for certain but it does sound like Jack. He said it had white on it's chest and was black/brown but not all one colour. When I suggested a doberman cross he said that would definitely make sense.

He also said the dog wardens were out and about a bit later on so have you checked with the pound again? He could've been taken in yesterday?

I'll try and get out looking for him later but it sounds like a sighting? Crookes Valley Park in Crookesmoor, just up from the university of sheffield buildings.

I've got to pop in at our vets in Broomhill as well so will ask them if they've heard anything as it sounds like he's been nearby. I was down in Weston Park this morning but didn't see him but will definitely try to get out about. Unfortunately I'm not upto walking at the moment so whilst I can drive around, I can't promise I'll be able to look everywhere :(

I'll also try asking down our road because a lot of the neighbours gardens back onto the park and he may have tried looking for food in them. CR, I pm'd you about posters, did you get it? My printer's not working so if you could print some off and send them I'll put them around the area.

Right, just phoned the Dam House Restaurant and the guy there says he saw a dog on the bank outside the restaurant (the Dam House is in Crookes Valley Park) this morning!

He said he was quite concerned as it was wet through and on it's own but by the time he'd finished cleaning the window (which is how he saw it) and went out to see, it had gone. It was too far away for him to see properly but it looked to be black and not very big so could be him?

So the chances are he's still there or nearby. Broomhill Vets haven't seen him, but I'm going up there later so will leave her with a description and both the vets and the Dam House have my number to contact me if they see him.

Am I right in thinking he's about the same size/slightly smaller than a lab but less bulky?

edit: Just been on the phone to Goodwin Sports Centre who's grounds overlook the university and the park. She's taken his description and my phone number as I'm only around the corner so if they do see him I can be there in no time.
She's going to tell everyone to keep an eye out and she lives in Broomhill so will also keep a look out for him (lets hope it was him my neighbour saw! )

I'm going to go and look later Cuddlycats, and I've emailed the student advertising at the Union to ask them to circulate Jack's description to all students, as many of the properties that overlook the park are student properties, plus he could be around the university itself.

I can't go out just yet as am waiting for a call to go and collect a dog from the vet but will go out after that and see if I can see him. Hopefully the union will circulate his description to students as that's the main body of people in this area and many of them love dogs and miss their dogs from home!

04-11-2008, 15:33
Depends what time. You can park opposite crookes valley park on whitam road after 6.30pm as yellow line. There are a lot of resident parking schemes, and hospitals around there so its a bit of a mare. Not sure if you are allowed to park in the uni car parks after a certain time (cars left at own risk). If you are thinking day time-hardly anywhere.

If you don't mind a walk you could prob get parked in crookes and walk down.

Just got in...

I've been around Crookes Valley Park and spoken to the manager at the dam house who showed me where he saw him.

if you're going - wear firm grips! He's been up in the bushes near the gardens and getting up that grass bank in this weather is nigh on impossible.

I've walked around shouting him and whistling, and also checked their bins... (sorry but I have dallies).
The manager has checked all the outhouses and been for a nosey since I spoke to him on the phone but can't see him.

I've just walked down the road knocking on doors and given out my mobile number and asked people who's gardens back onto the park to keep an eye out for him. Nobody's seen him though.

Not done all the road as Eddy was getting stressed by fireworks so had to bring him home...

The manager has my number and is going to check again in the morning for me (he saw him at 9:15 this morning) and hopefully his description will be circulated around the students.

One of the residents offered for me to go look from her garden but tbh, it was pointless at this time of night - I couldn't see a thing even though you have a better view from the gardens.

Hi,
We went to Crookes Valley Park today at approx 5pm.
We took our little rescue dog "Herbie" in the hope that we might find Jack.
No sign though unfortunately and it was quite dark in there so would'nt recommend anyone going searching on their own.
Sure our little dog thinks wev'e totally lost it. . .shouting Jack and whistling. . . probably wondering why wev'e changed his name. :)
We will go up again tomorrow.
Good luck to all.

Jess - click my sig for the poster

We were there from 8pm til 9.30pm

Brude's not a trained scent dog, but he knows what 'hunting' means, and he knows what a dog is. He was largely disinterested until we got to the beer garden of Dam House, where his tail arched across his back and he scooted his nose all about part of the flagged area, exited, then shot off down the grassy bank to the right (if you're facing the beer garden)

I rang lotti for info on where he'd actually been seen, and Brude was heading in the right direction

We clambered up the bank he'd been spotted on, and inspected all the bushes, but all we got were some interesting smells, and lots of strategic places to tell Jack we'd been looking for him , but as he doesn't know us, that's not going to help :(

We then did an outside lap of the park, then a lap of the banks up the sides of the Uni floodlit courts, but no result at all there - just a 'rodent' response from Brude's nose and tail

We must have just missed you - we were there about 7 - 7.45pm and covered Weston Park and Crookes Valley Park and right round the lake twice and then up behind the Dam house and the neighbouring streets. Didn't see any of the posters you put up though. Tried to stick some up ourselves but the surfaces were too damp for the sellotape to stick to. Blu Tack wouldn't stick either. There were lots of other dog walkers around, which I suspect Brude was sniffing after.

Personally I think if he was spotted there, then he is long gone. There's nothing saying the sightings of him were definitely him. There were black dogs up there which from a distance could have been Jack but weren't.

Finally, he IS listed on nationalpetregister.

Strix
04-11-2008, 23:02
well I did expect it to be a popular dog walking spot, so was expecting it to be reasonably futile

the reason for taking him and us rummaging through all the bushes rather than walking the paths is that he'd have given some indication as to whether an animal was camped out in the bushes ignoring any attempts at calling

Besides, it was a walk, and an excuse to drop in on Lotti

Lotti
04-11-2008, 23:35
Sorry Classic Rock, I just figured it was better reported than not :(

Although the one seen this morning was described as 'black' not his markings, it was at a distance and it was alone. Hence I thought it could be but the dog described to me by neighbour who saw one yesterday sounded just like Jack. I didn't tell him what Jack looked like at all until he'd told me it was dark, but not all one colour, white on it's chest and slightly smaller than a labrador (although - I don't actually know what size he is).

Anyway, everyone in the area has been alerted and if anyone spots him they have my number.

Sorry you had no luck at Crookes Valley :(

It was like a scene from lassie when they went to see him he recognised them straight away and was just the same dog that left six months ago ,dont think they ever found out where he had been.So i wouldnt worry too much about that , just concentrate on getting Jack back you are doing all you can and more, you have many friends behind you.

Could you clarify this for us please? Not that it should make a difference, but I never saw you mention a reward on the thread and wasn't sure which was correct?

k9@alfies
07-11-2008, 13:58
Always advisable to put reward on a poster as does encourage more interest sadly but never state how much as by law if you do you are obligated to that amount, if owner wants it removed can do that, no problem Chris

Thanks for the text. It does sound like Jack. Only problem is that the pound closes over the weekend!!!! We have tried both numbers but both go to answer phone. We had the same situation when we lost him. We had to wait until the Monday before we got in contact!!!! So it looks like this could be the same problem!!!! We have waited, searched and worried for over 2 weeks and as soon as we get a glimmer of hope the Council System fails us again!!!!! We have tried all numbers available and all go to answer phone. Anyone got any ideas?????

So would I! Someones got to be there at some point to see to the dogs
If no-ones there I`d pin a note to the door asking for someone to ring or post a note through the letter box (if there is one)
Good luck

Having had various PMs with the person who found him, it's pretty obvious it's not him. Different shaped head, different breed, not as black, etc.

Jack was overweight (a bit!) when he left home, he wouldn't be down to skeleton size. The person who found him told me he'd been out for a very long time. Additionally I've been told that he was scanned for a microchip when handed in from head to tail thoroughly. There was no chip. Jack's chip would have been found.

When I changed vets a year ago Jack's chip was found on his neck, which is where it was put 4 years previously. It would have been found.

I'm not going on yet another wild goosechase like I did earlier this week, frantically banging on kennel doors for a dog that doesnt sound like Jack. The kennels have a full description of him and are used to us ringing them regularly.

occasionally chips are not picked up by a reader. There are a number of different chip systems, and the chip readers which read them all scan first for one type, then reset and scan on another (well the one at the pound does anyway)

If the scanner isn't passed over the right area of the dog on the repeat passing, it can be missed

Having figured out how to bluetooth Jack's poster to my phone I've forwarded it to one of the pound staff

If everybody else could save his poster to their phone and send it on to people that'd be great

just open the poster from my sig, 'save as' to get it to your computer, then send it to your phone by bluetooth, infrared or with its cable. Send it on to as many people as you can (bluetooth/infrared it to friends/family you meet up with to avoid costs)

this will give a quick reference for you if you think you've spotted him, and will give you the phone number to ring (though that's better stored in your phone memory properly so you can access it sensibly!)

That is really disappointing, it was a long shot but worth looking.

There were two young women working there at 4pm today, both were very friendly and understanding and showed me the dog which had been handed in today. He's a big boy! Mostly tan in colour, I'd say a lab/GSD cross. Hard to tell, definitely a mongrel. There's a pedigree dalmation in there, obviously someone's pet.

No Jack though. One of the girls took my details down and a full description of Jack (again!). She did say though that a dog was brought in that had been found tied to a tree, they scanned for a chip, found one and contacted the owner. The owner was overjoyed as she had lost him 7 months ago!! So, I guess I'm just going to have to sit back and wait unless the power of the Forum finds a way forward.....

Sorry its not Jack CR. Never give up hope though, as even if he has been taken in my a member of the public, then at some point his chip may be picked up. It is better that he is chipped cos if he wasnt, then the chances of him simply disappearing are far greater.
