Im thinking of getting one.

The best one seems to be the Philips Sonicare ones. The latest sonicare flexcare is their latest model but its £119.00! Mind you if its worth it then its worth it............but is it?

Have you got an electric one? Whats it like?

I got an electric toothbrush a couple of years ago - it was an Oral B, about £20-25 I think.

I looked at the more expensive ones, but decided all the claims they made were just pseudo-science babble to con you into paying out more than you need to! But then, I am a bit tight.

Before shelling out that much dosh, I'd be inclined to ask the dentist which one would be most suitable for you, at least you'd get an unbiased opinion.

And, before buying, I'd check for special offers - Boots, Amazon, etc - you can save a pretty penny if you shop around online.

The Oral B range are very good, and if you choose where you buy them carefully, you might even get as much as 50% off.

Check out Sheffield's poshest department store, Argos - the 8500 is £35

The 8900 is £45

Cheaper Oral-B models are available, yes, such as the Advance Power range, but they do not have the fancy 3D rotating method the more expensive ones do.

They usually come on offer just before Christmas, personally I don't see anything wrong with the old fashioned manual type I think you get a better brush with them as the electric ones just tickle your teeth rather than give them a right good old scrub but I certainly wouldn't spend £119 on one - I'd want it to do a lot more than brush my teeth for that!

I have an Oral B vitality. And would recommend it.

There are quite a few on offer at half price in Argos at the moment.

This is the kind I use and it was recommended by my dentist. I'm perfectly happy with it and I do like the fact that it has a timer that lets you know how long to spend brushing each quadrant of your mouth.

Have a look at how much replacement heads cost for the models you're interested in. The ones for my Sonicare (that was given to me as a gift) are £15 each!!

Good grief - being nagged by a toothbrush, I don't think I could cope!! :hihi:

Yeah but when you look at the difference it makes to your teeth its well worth it, I always get mine on special offers somewhere or through Ebay.

Oral-B brushheads are notoriously expensive at RRP.

Shop around for the best deals - Amazon, Boots, Superdrug regularly have 50% off deals on those too.

I bought the new Oral B Triumph with wireless smartguide.

Should have been £139.99 and I got it for £69.99 from comet sale.

Havent tried it yet but on the gadget show & which magazine compared it to the sonicare and this one came first so not a bad bargain!!!

You really can't beat a sonicare. I've been using them for years now, and only on my second one. I did try the cheaper versions, but they just didn't seem to clean as well. You can pick them up cheap enough on ebay. I was lucky with my last one, they had some in TJ's for 30 quid, although that was a few years ago.
