Please help. I dont know if you are aware but there is the most TERRIBLE cruelty to animals going on in China. This includes.......boiling animals such as cats for food while still alive, using vivisection without anesthetic, feeding live animals such as calves to preditors in zoos to entertain the public, stripping fur off animals while STILL CONSCIOUS for the fur trade..the animals take about ten minutes to die from shock and blood loss, bear bile farming, the list is endless.
If you can bear to watch there is video evidence on the PETA website.
There is a petition on the Downing Street website and we would be really grateful if you could sign it and send the link to 5 of your friends, we need numbers.

It doesnt take two minutes to sign, and there is evidence that the Chinese govt DOES respond to pressure if it affects business. Its only by lobbying that there could be any change. If we hadnt done that we would still have the slave trade! You can make a difference. :o
Many thanks

I am most grateful to you. We really cant just sit by and know that these poor animals are being treated in this cruel way without at least trying to do something! I couldnt sleep for two nights after watching the Peta video, and I had to stop when they were 'only' cutting the skin of the poor sods back. How cruel is that!
The Chinese have had to invent a new word for 'animal rights' as they didnt have it in their language and they got so fed up with having to write a whole sentence every time this was raised. It might sound a small point but it is a sign of progress.
Please ask others to sign, I am slogging away here on my own!!

I saw a clip about a year ago I suspect that its the same one as the Peta one. I still have nightmares about it so havent looked at it again. One of the many reasons I dont travel abroad is that I dont agree with how many countries treat animals.

I went to Tenerife once and the stray cats and kittens bothered me I spent most of the two weeks worrying about them and feeding them. There was a zoo on the top of a nightclub, which I didnt visit obviously, but when I got home it was splashed in the tabloids about the zoo feeding the tigers with all the stray dogs and cats that were rounded up. The animals were slung in the tiger pen alive.

I've watched that Peta video and it is hard to take. I managed to get through to the end even though it was difficult. I now know that I have seen the worst thing that can happen to a living creature. I support what you are doing 100% and wish I could do more to help apart from spreading the word. Any ideas?

Its a horrid practice and I have signed the petition to stop this. I could never watch the film but can imagine its aweful.

Most people cant watch it at all. Its just terrible. No living creature should be treated like that. Some people have said to me 'whats the point in a petition, its their country, they do things differently there' I must admit this has been a small minority and not one of them had seen the footage. We cant possibly excuse such cruelty on the grounds that its a cultural difference. If that argument is followed we would have ignored the Holocaust!
There are some things in life which are just SO wrong you have to do whatever possible to try to stop it, Its a moral duty.

If anyone wants to help
a) Please encourage people to sign the petition
b) Please can you also see if there are any websites that will put the link up or forums you know where we can spread the word? If you dont have time if you just let me know I will contact them. Trouble is I am on my own and obviously the more this is spread the better. The petition only has another 8 weeks to go because I couldnt keep the time up for more than 12 weeks as obviously I need to do other things.
c) We need to ban ALL imported fur, a lot of Chinese fur comes in via other countries now to try to get over the EU and US ban on dog and cat fur. In any case, even if its not a cat or dog, I fail to see why ANY animal should be treated that way. A lot of people think they are buying rabbit, as its dyed, or shaved etc to disguise it.
d) There is another petition about selling live turtles in Tescos in China. The animals are killed either by boiling alive ( my husband was chinese) or chopping its head off. I dont understand the physiology, but because they can cut off their blood supply to the brain, the turtles head continues to live, severed from its body, for up to an hour!!! My son has seen this in China, with their mouths opening and shutting!! Plus of course, many of these animals are going to become extinct because the Chinese are hunting them in huge numbers to meet consumer demand!
I am busy right now but will post the link up later.
If you could spread the word about my petition it would be giving me a real hand! I am very tired with the extra work trying to contact people to let them know. I can only manage an hour a day.

I know also in some mediterrainian countries they bash the octupus till its dead as it tastes better !!!!! I am glad i have never eaten it. people kill beautifully created animals, and they shouldn't.
