I have a Xerox inkjet printer / scanner, which I bought in 2001. WorkCentre M940. Anyway, it has totally stopped printing black. Yes, I bought a brand new black ink cartridge, cleaned the print heads, aligned etc. The paper remains blank. So my question is, how do you know when to change the print head? I have taken it all apart and cleaned the print head and ink is coming out. What now :confused:

I know you have this model in the UK cos on ebay most of the ink cartridges come from England.

I went online to see how much they are to buy new and they are quite expensive, so I don't know wether to buy one only to find out that's not the problem. Any suggestions? What kind of lifetime does a print head have? How do you know when it's had it?

Come on some computer geek. I'm about to spend $50.00 on a new print head (about 25 pounds). Surely ink jet printers work in very much the same way? Please help me someone with an idea of where I might be going wrong. Buy a new printer is one answer I'm expecting. :help:
