Research from Durham University has suggested that teams who wear a red kit have an advantage over teams wearing blue. They studied four sports at the 2004 Olympics where competitiors are randomly assigned either red or blue kits and body protection (eg. boxing) and found the fella wearing red won over half the bouts.
So, what do you Owls and Blades fans reckon to this? Are United getting an unfair advantage over their blue clad foes? Or is it a load of cobblers?!?
It's a load of cobbler's look at Chelsea & Everton all in blue.
i no years ago teams with stripes hardly ever won cup finals :loopy:

I agree totally with tosh13.
I do wonder what Universities actually teach these days??
Are they handing out degrees on the back of cereal packets now?
I thought degrees were supposed to be a measure of intelligence not if some numpty up in the north east has the time to study if the colour of a sportspersons (note that I was not being sexualist unlike our budding university student who only studdies fellas) vest gives them an advantage?

Didn’t you know that red cars go faster so red sports kit sounds feasible, but I suspect it all depends on how much you’ve had to drink (LoL).

Red cars are also said to attract accidents (or at least their drivers are!)...also new red cars have a lower re-sale value than say black or silver...

Red cars tend to be poo unless they are a ferarri!
Teams in red win more?! Load of ******** IMO.
Pardon my French :D
I think Durham Uni would do better & go down the road to see how those in black & white stripes have done, than waste tax payers money on a stupid course.
That's quite a stupid study.... Did they take into account the actual ability of those involved?
The two most succesful football teams (worldwide) in my lifetime have been;
Club - Real Madrid - White Shirts
International - Brazil - Yellow Shirts
The only team I can remember wearing red to win the world cup was England in 1966!
Italy, France, Uruguay and Argentina have all won wearing blue (or blue & white stripes). Oh, and Brazil wore blue in the 1958 final in Sweden.
Germany have done rather well wearing white.
Thinks.........must nip over to Durham pronto and get a research grant!
