My husband works at Walnut club above the plumb centre and several members of the staff there have been into the plumb centre to see for themselves what has been going on. Someone took some photos of the strange going ons. My husband has never believed in these kind of things but is now thoroughly convinced.

I remember it being a Co-Op supermarket in the 1970's. I don't remember it being a Fine Fare, but I could be wrong. Was definitely a supermarket though! :)

Perhaps the ghost was a socialist and is now doing his nut in what with all the posh toffs swanning it around the Walnut Club upstairs splashing money all over the place on champagne :-)

There used to be more butchers shops on Ecclesall Road than any other road in Sheffield, so it probably was.

Try putting a camcorder in there or monitoring the CCTV, just to make sure someone is not playing tricks. If something happens again, you've then got proof one way or the other.

Suggest you get Most Haunted Team in (or someone similar) to sort it out. Also, if this only started about 2 months ago, did anything coincide with this? eg building work, refurbishment, new staff joining?

I wanted another member of staff to back up bambam81's post detailing an experience. The times given make it difficult for it to have been a hoaxer so was looking for a second opinion.

As someone who doesn't belive in Ghosts I think it's a mixture of slightly changing the details and a Hoaxer is behind it.

Might even be a new TV program being filmed and some staff are in on it. Bambam81 never explained why the other member of staff ran in screaming.

I know people keep thinking this is a hoaxer i even thought it myself when he started telling me but i can honestly say first hand there is no possible way this can be a hoaxer now. At first maybe but then when they saw how upset it is making some people they would have stopped. there are many "Ghost Hunting" teams that frequent these boards, why not ask one fo them to come and take a look, worse case you might get some evidence ;)

LOL...this may well be the answer, usually ancient buriel ground gets disturbed or something changes that a spirit takes objection to.

The saying Rest in Peace is to do with all this, if the spirit is not at peace, then they tend to let you know.
Obviously they can't do this easily and it takes a very old spirit to have learned to do poltergiest activity. They need a lot of energy to do this and it takes tens of years maybe hundreds to learn it.

I would tend to think, three doors down is actually the place the spirit is not happy with? He's coming to you as your the only folk who notice him and believe him.....Has your hubby ever attracted things like this before?

I don't think it's actually connected to him and there's nothing to fear, cos it can't hurt you!

The excorcism is the best bet, as they know what they are doing, they prey for the sole to be at peace and open the door to the other side by chanting in Latin, so the spirit can pass back through and be at peace.
It's all about R.I.P, if you can convince the spirit to ugger off and leave you alone.

I was extremely sceptical about this things too, till I heard/ experienced first hand myself.
Middlewood Hospital before it got knocked down, was a security guard at the time...walking right round the building at hourly intervals.
Taking into concideration, the building was just a shell...ALL fixtures, fittings, pipes, floorboards, everything had been stripped.

Walking round, the dog stopped dead and refused to move, hackles up but nothing there...I heard a methodical CLINK clink CLINK coming from the building one end.
The sound was EXACTLY like some one bashing a metal cup against pipes.
BUT there's NO metal work in there?

Well I carried on, major puzzled, no -one there, yet heard metal clinking? Was'nt scared just intrigued and a little frustrated at not finding anyone my dog could get his teeth into...lol

Was later I found out off the NHS site boss that, that particular part of the building had been the secure mental ward, it had once housed the worst inmates and had indeed once had metal bars at each window.

How scary is that!!! Not really just the old inmates letting us know they were still there.
It was'nt as bad as going round the old mortuary of a night but never heard or saw anything there.
Woulkd'nt buy a house on that site either.

If you think it would help then ask someone to come round from a local spiritalist church, the one at darnal maybe able to help. even if they just tell you who it is and why he is there.:thumbsup:

If you want to stop it then set up a camera in the kitchen. You'll either catch the hoaxer or they'll stop doing it. The reason you don't get videos of ghosts isn't because they are camera shy, it's because they don't exist. There is always a logical explanation and the more time you spend going down this route the more your fuelling the hoaxer to continue.

The hoaxer will be camera shy. Notice how people come upon these changes but never see it happen, it's because there is someone doing it. You could just sit in the kitchen at 2pm and nothing will happen in there but will somewhere else.

I think snowman has a point. It's not about being sceptical - it's logic. The events that are happening here are extraordinary and should be caught on camera if possible. If someone told you the Loch Ness monster was likely to appear at a certain time you wouldn't go and buy a sketch book and pencil. There are a lot of people with HDD cameras that can capture hrs of film. It's not about "testing" people - I don't doubt what some people may be experiencing. It's simply that people, myself included, are interested in this stuff and would love to see evidence.

its getting dull now, setting up a camera wont prove anything. and there has been things caught on camera maybe u just aint seen the real ones. Anyway it not about if they are real or not, someone is clearly scared and could do with people replying to help not been funny about it. Ive been in the sistuation and i no how scary it it.

im not against setting up cameras, thats not an issue im saying that even if they do set up cameras if very unlikely that it will make a difference. if its happening in the day the surely people can see there is nothing there. if u film at nite ur only likely to film orbs. If you want to stop it then set up a camera in the kitchen. You'll either catch the hoaxer or they'll stop doing it. The reason you don't get videos of ghosts isn't because they are camera shy, it's because they don't exist. There is always a logical explanation and the more time you spend going down this route the more your fuelling the hoaxer to continue.

Anyone seen Derren Brown's stage show, or the "Seance" episode from Halloween a few years ago? He explains how ouija boards, automatic writing, spirit "possession" etc. works, it's basically all in the mind.

His "Messiah" show was good as well, think they repeated it quite recently. One of the things he demonstrates there is how he can do "cold reading" to make people believe that he's some sort of powerful medium, when he freely admits that he's not, and he doesn't actually believe in the supernatural at all.

As for me, I don't believe in it either - almost everyone has got some sort of camera these days, but nobody has ever captured verifiable or even half convincing footage of it. If they did then they could claim a million dollars from James Randi, see here (http://www.randi.org/joom/challenge-info.html).

I also believe that apparitions can be caused by a phenomenon known as "infrasound", which you can read about here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrasound#The_Ghost_in_the_Machine) on Wikipedia.

Casper has done stuff outside of the kitchen before and so if shy could carry on and work elswhere. A hoax would realise were onto them (more so if they are reading this thread) and do nothing worried there are more cameras not mentioned on here. But one day doesn't prove this as there are days nothing happens sometimes so thats why we need 3 or 4 days. Maybe Casper was seeing his Girlfriend today.

Because I know people involved and they are geniunly scared, obviously I can't be 100% sure but I do believe them. Some of the things they have seen just can't be explained.....

Nothing has happened at all the vicar did go down with high management and an excorsism is taking place this week at night when the shop is closed. The 2 reasons i stopped posting on here is because 1 the mods must think this is a P** take and dont think its interesting enough to keep in the main field and to put it in the im bored section i find insulting!! 2 because we have idiots loggin on as poltergeists thinking it is funny and it just frustrated me a little. This is not a hoax thread nor has it ever been, the higher management have had calls from BBC radio sheff and the star and declined both to run with a story so if this was for business they would have welcomed them with open arms.

But thanks for all your support through this and hopefully it will all be over later in the week.

It could be (as mentioned by someone else and not wanting to steal their words) that management told them to stop posting and talking about it.

Although I have experienced a poltergeist firsthand. I am on this occasion, more inclined to prescribe to some of Snowmans theories, eg Hoxer, who has been caught out. Or as I said ealier, that Plumb Centre management have asked staff not to discuss it>

That's a shame then. I have no experience at all of ghosts but I quite like the idea that one might exist somewhere local and is willing to enter into some kind of relationship ...in good spirit - so to speak - especially if it is taking the P. :)

No photographs or anything even though they set a cam up at the times it happens. Anything else happen to your friend or was it Jack or a well known Grouse that left him at the bottom of the stairs. :hihi:

So what else happened to him? If he just fell down the stairs and then got the vicar out, something more must have happened for him to do "and everything".

Well you know, stuff like things being broken, things flying about, various unerving incidents. The vicar wasn't able to help him, but the Mormons got rid of the evil spirits in that flat.
