just got an email from Microsoft telling me of the latest download notifications and top of the list was internet explorer 8 beta should i download it?

When I downloaded explorer 7 I had loads of grieve before it was all running properly, I am reluctant to upgrade again.

I've usually found IE beta's faster and more stable than the final release! I'm giving v 8 beta a go although to be honest it'll have to go some to tear me away from Firefox.
