met up with an old mate today and we met up in the bankers draft, now i've only been in there a handful of times (usually pisshhd) but his is the 1st time i've been in sober:P now is it me, or is it very boring?

it had quite a few people in having a beer but, i don't know there was something missing (and i don't mean the music) it was hmmmmmmmmmmm !!

Bankers is a good pub for chatting without all the noise and sells cheap beer.

You may have got the very end of a cask....come back in and we will gladly sort you out with a fresh pint.....normally the Smiths is spot on...also its a CASK version and not the normal keg dispensed smoothflow you get in the Bankers Draft and other pubs..this has fooled a few people in the past, as the taste and texture of the cask version of Smiths is a totally different experience....

Its a boring place.

Walls are now lighter purple, and the zebra skin seats are still there, we just covered them over as they were full of holes....we may well expose them again to an unsuspecting Public one day...I kind of miss them....

Banker's Draft is just another Wetherspoons type Boozer. It has very little if any of its own "character", the decor's a bit crap as well.

The Beer's cheap though, with it being Wetherspoons :P

Don't be scared - it's a decent little boozer, with good beer.

Typical Wetherspoons pub dirty tables and very poor customer service, you can some time wait foe ages the staff have all been on a course on how not to serve the customer.

In fairness, when it first opened, it was half way decent. Plenty of cheap, reasonably kept real ales, a good turnaround on different beers, and no rowdiness. It seemed like a good idea.

The thing is, these places aren't run as 'pubs'. These are nothing but 'McBeers', or 'Beer King', and as such the inevitable decline started, and it's the same in every Wetherspoons I've been in in recent years.

lol Corporation is far worse, but a good laugh. personally i think all wetherspoons, Bankers Draft and all, are only good for meeting up with people en route to other places or going for food when there's no cheap alternative. this particular one also has pestering staff- i can undertsand them being eager to get people out, but the staff seem to stand staring at you eating/drinking until you leave at the end of the night half an hour before they go home :S

The bankers draft is always full of alcoholics, you can stop the tell tale signs.

I noticed there is a big banner hung outside the BD advertising some beer festival, with 50 beers and ciders to try, sounds ok to me.

You have to lick a different section of the carpet to try each one.

It's a shame it's such a dump because the building is pretty nice.
