I know someone with the Advent (just a re-badged MSI Wind) and he's very happy with it.

I've got an Advent 4211 and it's great! I've got a few other PCs & laptops which are more powerful but I prefer the Advent because it's just a lot more useable as a mobile device - smaller, lighter, easy to transport...

I've identified the 900HA as the best fit for my OH.

Not made it to the uk yet though.

Personally I think I'll get a 901, although the AA1 is tempting.

a 4 cell battery is going to be a crippler. I saw on hexus there is a brand with a 9 cell battery out soon so that will last hours. I like the Asus stuff but the Wind gets it for me with the ability to change the HD easier

I would stay away from Acer stuff (and normally Advent but the 4211 is a rebadged MSI Wind so thats all good) Had nothing but probs with any Acer stuff i have used

4 cell doesn't tell you very much at all actually, you need to know the mAh to get an idea of battery life.

reviving this topic because things have moved on since first posting and would like advice recommendations on current netbooks. Thanks in advance for advice/suggestions.

The Acer Aspire One is a pretty popular choice, but I hear lots of stories about their reliability. Mine's been OK though, touch wood.

The Samsung NC-10 is still a favourite of mine, and you should get a good deal now that the NC-20 is out.

Hi have a EEEPC 901 and upto now i cant fault its a cracking little netbook that has built in wifi, bluetooth, webcam, 3 usb sockets to name a few. It has reliable SSD drive as opposed to a hard drive. All in all a nice little netbook for browsing and emailing.

I got an Eee Seashell, but if I was in the market right now, I'd wait until the next generation is actually on sale, it won't be long now. They'll have the dual core atom and the new chipset, battery life will be improved as will performance.

This would be on my shortlist, in fact if I was still commuting on the train, I'd have bought one and given the older one as an xmas gift.
