we who use the forum, are all of different ages/backgrounds etc: whats the best thing to you/us about living in sheffield and why? I ask because i like to think that there is still pride in sheffield folk, no matter what age we maybe!:thumbsup:

People in Sheffield are very friendly and helpful. Well compared to where I am from they are anyway.

Agree. Very friendly Yorkshire (South :D ) folk. I think we're an up and coming city who was only recoginised for steel in the past and considering its size is often forgotten. (if that makes sense) :confused:

I dont think you can get more down to earth people than Sheffield folk.

I like the fact this is a green city - out of my window I can see lots of trees.

I also like being able to get into the Peaks in 10 minutes.

I love the fact that Sheffield is a large city but sometime's still has the feel of a small town.

Its also easy to get round lot better than other cities like Leeds if you know 3 or 4 main routes you can just abiut get anywhere.

oh yeah one last thing I love is that I live here and so does my son :clap:

In no particular order:

pubs and ale
pretty views
trams
friendly people
less commercialised environment than other cities
lots of ace veggie food everywhere

Brilliant for

...Parks, Pubs, Restaurants, Shops, People, Sports Facilities, Venues for live bands (the big names as well as local), Location to peak district and M1, History, Quality Beer, Universities, Not being flat and boring, Having a fantastic forum...need I go on..... :clap:

If there was one thing to make Sheffield perfect it would be if the coast was within a 20 minutes drive!!

It's so close to beautiful countryside, i'ts got great districts, it's got hills that i love, it has wonderfuly diverse artiries into it with multicultural people & it's my city, my home & full of ti_s fan_y & Wednesday, oh Sheffield is wonderfull!
