I wonder if anyone can give me some advice about installing a web cam ,I have bought one and tried to install it but when I do its says my PC does not have enough files to continue??
I have installed them before on other PC s but this one wont have it.
It said to insert windows 98 to hard drive so I did and then it said to re install the camera which I also did but it comes back with the same answer?
Anyone ??

As long as you have the Cd with the drivers there should not be any problems...

If it's a USB cam, just plug it in, wait till Windows Spazzes up and notices something's going on.

'Detected New Hardware'

Then the install new hardware window and all... Damn I had all them screenshots for a presentation I did for a job not 2 weeks ago... And deleted al lthe pics thinking I wouldn't need 'em anymore, damn !

I had the same problem with a web cam that I picked up, that annoying message saying that some files were missing. I managed somehow to get it to show which file was missing [blind luck] and then searched for the file on the net and downloaded it. I did this seven times each time downloading a tiny file and watching as the percentage banner slowly crept upwards. After seven downloads and seven or more installs the percentage banner eventually reached 100%, if I'd of had the strength I'd of cheered. I had the cam CD, the windows CD and I just wish I could remember how I managed to get it to show me the missing files, albeit one at a time.

Hi I got my mate J blaze to come round and have a go and he is a PC technician and he couldnt get it to work right either.
We installed all the drivers and the camera worked ,then we looked on the programmes and it had dissapeared.
So in essence we have the hard drive not retaining the programme.
Weird aint it.?
