Today I saw the strange Police motorcade involving lots of motorbikes, a police car and a motorbike at Hunter Bar at about 11.45 am escorting one BMW.

Last week I saw a similar motorcade at the roundabout by Waitrose at the bottom of Eccy Road involving two BMWs this time fullof well built blokes, and a friend told me he saw the same motorcade going up Cemetary Road that morning. Obviously they had been somewhere and were on the way back.

Today the man driving the BMW was wearing an SY Police black sweater, so this looks like they are running a practice for something involving several routes around the western part of the city.

Can anyone else shed any light on this subject?

i saw the very same motorcade (7 police bike's 1 bmw 1 police car) all in the outside lane on the m1 then onto the m18 towards doncaster not far off the a1 then the put their foot down and disappeared, the bmw only had the driver in the vehicle as did the police car. this would be about 12 noon.
