Hi all foodies!

I was wondering if anyone knew of any butchers that would stock partridge and game, preferably in town or between town and Middlewood.

I have never eaten partridge or pidgeon and would like to try both and am very fond of other game meats, but when I go to the butchers I don't seem to see them.

I don't think the pheasant and partridge season has started yet but pigeon should be available year round. I know that Boldocks in Woodseats sells both, but that might be a bit out of the way for you. Failing that, there's a butcher in Hillsborough that sells game, I forget the name of it but it's in the Barracks complex. Sainsburys and Waitrose also have game when it's in season.

The chappy on 'What to eat now' said the partridge season starts on 1st September, so will check out that butchers. I do often pop in, and not seen game birds, but then if its not what I'm looking for often you don't see things.
