Craig
The VIP seats are almost all sold out!!!
Elite design studios have booked a few, Roscamp joiners have taken a few, Sonbae Taekwondo club in killamarsh have already taken a whole lot.
Theres only a handful left now :help:
Farhad, I've sent a message to Craig asking if he's got a ticket spare for me, if not - could you shove one to one side for me please? Cheers.
I've got you a ticket dude, don't panic !!!!
Craig
kind of like a K1 max farhad you can't really compare a 4 man tournament with average fighters if that to a K1 Max?
themadrev 15-10-2008, 12:44 Looking forward to it. I haven't been to a kickboxing show for a long time - since I used to watch Billy Murray fight for world titles in Belfast; almost twenty years ago. You can't beat a good grapple though! ;) Noel

chefkicker 15-10-2008, 15:41 kind of like a K1 max farhad you can't really compare a 4 man tournament with average fighters if that to a K1 Max?
Average fighters compared to who?
Can you please specify? Also by the way unlike many other inferior sanctioning bodies people fighting for an ISKA title are not average fighters or novices. Only reputable fighters who have actually beaten worthy opponents can fight for an ISKA title. Even an ISKA area title has worthy contenders.
Can you compare a WAKO or a WKA area title to an ISKA area title im afraid.
Hey guys :)
Looking forward to the show, Fahred always puts on cracking matches and has a growing reputation as one of the UK's better promoters.
Looking forward to Kade vs Daiton more than my own fight I think, both are fantastic fighters! Not to mention the four man tournement, that will be awesome :D
Surprised to see that neither Raj or Spade are fighting for Sheffield Kapap. Spade is in the shape of his life.
Lotar what do you think about Raj and Spade for first blood ???
Forgot to add . I will put up £100 purse for Spade to fight. This is win or lose. Think he needs the money.
smokin_aces 19-10-2008, 23:39 Bendus2, thanks for suggesting Spada but apparantly he has a fight newly sheduled today with a guy called Ben on the newly formed Smackdown Night Of Pain tornament, your offer of a £100 will be greatfully recieved as that will go behind the bar for his supporters to enjoy a congratulatory drink after the event. No doubt Ben will be leaving the venue in a Ambulance so will not be able to join them......
Unfortunately due to injury and general aversion to pain Ben will not be able to fight, however Tim has offered to deputise.

Im looking forward to seeing your fight against Mark "Goose" Beaumont who last time out beat SDF'sAndrew Riley in a thrilling contest! I cant wait to see the SDF fighter rematch Goose either.
Regards your recommendation, the facts speak for themselves ;)

chefkicker i know who you are talkign about and think all this to and fro banter or childish insults really need to stop. None of it is good for either sports of muay thai or flickboxing. Seriously though i do think your matches are always fair fights and maybe the other promotors who mismatch fighters are not doing it intentionally, maybe they dont know the standards of different clubs as well?
chefkicker 29-10-2008, 14:50 Are we nearly there yet?
Weve had lots of pull outs (including half of the AFK fight squad due to injuries!!! , 2 hand injuries and 1 foot injury!!!)
But despite this we have still got 14/15 fights on (still neotiating fight number 15)
I'll fight if there's some very in-experienced fighter who wants a pop, hehe.

Ok Marc Aplin, You are now fighting Steve Winstanley from Wigan Muay thai.
The bill has changed dramatically!
Even thought there is something ridiculous like 15 fights on, only one of those fights is under the old fashioned "kicks above the waist" (commonly called shiny pants kickboxing) rules.
All but one of the fights includes low kicks. They are either Thaiboxing, K1 or low kick rules.

he's not fighting kickboxing he's fighting k1 and it doesn't matter what he fights, he's still showing of his talents to people like usand plus he's fighting a class fighter from portugal. Changes in the fight card do occur but not as many as they do in your show. As you've showed us all on the forum

(I'm kidding!)
Well that was an honour to put our fighters on this show. It was very well organised and everyone there had a great time.
Thanks Farhad for inviting my club to fight.
Craig.
tomyamgoong 09-11-2008, 01:59 It were a well organsied show.Lotar was that u with the green top ? your fighters did very well and showed a good standard of muaythai. I liked the last 2 fights especially the knee to the head KO LOL knees knees knees! This kind of stuff beats bog standard kickboxing hands down! Those guys from fight unit won all their fights too. The 4 man tourney was ace! I really enjoyed the finale between the young lad from AFK and jeff binns from fight unit. It were so close but jeff binns had that little more in the tank and looked less tired than AFK lad. Why wasnt Yousef Abreham fighting?
Yes, green top ( bald head  ) thanks for the kind words about our fighters. They train hard, so was really pleased with the wins.
What about the junior fight ?? brill or what
Craig
Was a good night :) I was a bit over confident the first round and ended up getting a cracked rib from that kick in the second round, lol... My cardio was GONE then and it was all about surviving at that point, which is why I lost my aggression and danced around a bit.
I spoke to Ste and it seems if there was another 5 seconds of the first round he was going to have to stop it, but the bell saved him... DAMMIT!!! :P
Good match, we both hurt each other good and I think I learnt more in this match than any other, was really even too.
theres that many changes to the card i don't know who's fighting who anymore. should be a good weekend for MMA especially with showdown 5 on sunday can't wait to watch Christian di paolo fight
Were there MMA rules fights in any of this weekend's events?
KJ_VENOM 09-11-2008, 18:27 Great night i enjoyed it no end, never been to one before, nevermind providing the music
but would gladly do it again
Good job with the music Venom, glad you enjoyed the night, no MMA just Thai and K1.
Craig.
Enjoyed meeting Aplin and his team when they came down our Gym with Farhad the night before the show, great lads and hope you all keep in touch.
Craig.
tomyamgoong 10-11-2008, 17:16 Aplin is he the guy who was showboating like a kickboxer while the nakmuay landed effective scoring body kicks? Both did a good quality wai kru mind yuou ;)
Aplin is he the guy who was showboating like a kickboxer while the nakmuay landed effective scoring body kicks? Both did a good quality wai kru mind yuou
He sure is, however he has his reasons... Had his ribs cracked in the second round and needed a ploy to not get hit but look impressive enough to win/draw still. I couldn't throw a punch or kick without being in REAL pain and if I just moved back the whole fight 1. I'd look **** and 2. I'd lose on points.
So I wanted to make out to the judges I could take everything he threw at me and still be active, which evidently with a draw worked. Not many people could go two rounds with broken ribs, let alone draw, so Im happy enough with my result.
The first round was more my style, I like to get in there, throw and do spinning kicks, however getting in close or attempting spinning kicks with a cracked rib is impossible and therefore I couldn't maintain that style. I appologise for the show boating, but seriously, after that kick I just needed to hang on and I think it worked, he certainly seemed cautious and unsure what was going on.
Better showing next time, I promise :)
Can I have the phone number of the DVD guy please?
P.S. Tomyam, I didn't actually do my proper Wai Kru because it was a K-1 match, however I have been taught the Thai style and it was a method of showing respect to my teachers in England and Thailand, I think because I did it Ste thought he should do it also and then the Ref said 'We fighting Thai rules then boys?' and we had to tell him no, we were both just Nak Muays at heart, haha.

You said so yourself. The proof that you are aching from the body kick proves that body kicks cause effect. Kickboxing fights are too often punch punch punch tippy tappy tippy tappy and scored on workrate or how many shots land. Muay thai fights are scored purely on effect. That is how you know who is the superior boxer. Chok Dee for the next fight, when is the next fighting show Chefkicker/farad?
Whens the DVD out Farhad ?? wev'e got 6 to fight on the Feb show, hope you can match them mate
2 x junior girls age 11

The 2 girls were both gutsy and started the show well. You have the right to be proud of your muay thai school lotar. Did you ever venture up to wicker camp? Am i mistaken that you used to attend the friday night sparring or the morning bagwork classes there?
Yes mate, I used to train at Wicker Friday night, only time I could get as we teach every night.
Thanks for the kind words, Olivia has been with us since she was 6 years old, so I was very proud of her, she put on a brilliant performance as did her opponent. Actually as did every fighter on the show from all camps, great fights and great sportmanship........

Hi Craig
The DVD is out already. I will forward you his number. Hes another figure from my fighting days LOL.
The 2 girls have already been pre matched against 2 girls from Keri's in newcastle. The 70kg will be in the prestigious A.F.K-1 tournament.
The 2 77kg fighters ill match without any problem.
I have more people wanting to fight on my shows without me having to use any form of "bribery" or false promises of Mickey Mouse titles .
People are happy to put their fighters on my shows because:
1. The matching is spot on, no one gets mismatched or stitched up.
2. ALL The fights are real fights.
I.E on some shows they pick out bums to either take a dive or fighters from crap clubs to be KO'd by the home guys. Weak clubs/ fighters who take dives will not be used on my shows.
3.No one gets a bad decision, the judging is fair and accurate.
4. The titles are won by REAL champions.
The only Sheffield fighters to win an ISKA title on my shows are as follows.
Scot Sykes (SDF) = ISKA British thaiboxing title 66.6kg
Shaun Lomas (Kombat Sports) = ISKA Northern ARea Thaiboxing title 78kg
Yousif Ibrahim (AFK) = ISKA Northern Area Kickboxing title 51.5kg
All 3 of the above fighters have proved their worth of holding the belts they have.
I know what your thinking. Shaun Lomas ? Only an Area champ? Scot Sykes only a British champ?
In other organisations those particular fights would have counted for more but ISKA have high standards.
An ISKA belt compared to many others is like comparing the premiership to sunday league football.
ISKA leaves little room for second place. ;) (with a smug grin)

Chefkiker i feel compeled to write this for two reasons the 1st is that a good friend of mine is one of the promoters of the showdown event and it is obvious that your remarks are a 'dig' in some way of what they do and secondly Christian is also a good friend whom i have known for several years and he trained pretty hard for the show, neither of these two would bother posting anything but just laugh at your rant however i feel a little diffrent and would like to put my views across.
The use of the term 'micky mouse titles ' is a little insulting to the fighters that have won them, surly no fighter that is any good would bother fighting for a 'micky mouse title' ie Christian Di Paolo wfkko world champ(k1), Marlon Hunt wfkko world champ FC, SDF lads ( wfkko intercontinental Champion and wako british champion (k1) to name but a few.
I know scott's opponent was a very good fighter from wales and not sure who shaun lomas fought for his title, but didnt yousef fight that light continuous lad who fought on one of the Octagon shows and lost to a fighter from dinnington (got battered if im not mistaken) mmmm so i mean what was that lads record ??? how can you acuse other people of picking easy fights ??
I dont know who bribes people to fight but surly fighters deserve some recognition for their hard work or is it the promoters that should profit from the sweat of the fighters??
ISKA is a well respected organisation and hopefully one day they will get some deserved recognition and evolve from back street working mens clubs to more deserving venues.
Lets be honest How many fighters from Sheffields best kickboxing club AFK were on the last show???
I think there were 4/5 tkos on the last Octagon show and to say the fighters took a dive and are bums is disgracefull, thats insuting the likes of Mark seargent, Shaun Lomas, the Portugese champion, plus the two novice bouts.
Did you actually see the show ??? i feel that it is also an insult to Christian as the world title fight was awesome with both fighters getting stuck in and Christian finaly dropping his opponent, no one took a dive and to suggest so is well for a martial artist very disrespectfull.
you pointed out that Iska titles/belts were like comparing premier ship clubs to sunday league, well why would a premier ship team (iska) hold title fights in the local park (working mens clubs) and not wembly( better bigger venues).
I proberbly wont answer anything else you post as i think i may be in trouble for this so happy posting
PS im NOT saying your events or fighters are rubbish or anything like that just stating my opinion.
superstar1 19-11-2008, 01:46 Cant see the point of you two arguing ive been to both shows and there both good you two should kiss and make up or just agree to differ, i dont think forums are the place to bicker ' i,m better than you or were bigger than you' and all that nonsense you'll do yourselves no favours in the long run come on how come the kickboxing clubs dont work together ( no dont answer that it could kick off again) any way
Fact
1 Both shows are good
2 both have diffrent fighters
3 both target diffrent audiances
4 two many diffrences to compare them
its childish to say that one promoter is better than the next as you never know what can happen the weeks coming up to a fight, if you think your the best then your setting yourself up for a fall then that will be embarrasing so lets not bicker on here it not good for the sport
end of.

Hook line and sinker :hihi: (in your face )
1. NO ONE slated Christian Di Paolo , he is THE BEST thaiboxer in the country at that weight (and possibly the 2 above as well!)
2. Wfkko???? Are you serious? I thought you guys were WAKO ?
3. Venues are all about money. My wallet is nowhere NEAR the size of Hussain and Adrians. I dont have thousands of pounds to throw away on expensive venues.
4. RE :Bums , you know what im on about dont twist the facts. I know how you work. I know a little bit more about matchmaking than you do. I am the ONLY fair matchmaker in south yorkshire PERIOD. No one ever casts aspersions on my matchmaking ;)
I never put mismatches on and i am known for having never stitched anyone up. I have had other local promoters asking for what i consider STUPID matches.
5. Lets face it ISKA are number one in the UK ;)
Thank you for keeping the thread to the top.
chefkicker 19-11-2008, 11:52 Yes mate, I used to train at Wicker Friday night, only time I could get as we teach every night.
Thanks for the kind words, Olivia has been with us since she was 6 years old, so I was very proud of her, she put on a brilliant performance as did her opponent. Actually as did every fighter on the show from all camps, great fights and great sportmanship........
Craig.
Hi Craig,
That lad who was showboating doesnt want to fight Marco again, its his birthday that day apparently but he will fight Marco again in the future.
Yes youre right about sportsmanship. I dont deal with unsporting camps LOL. They know who they are.
Looks like these people who talk about "respect" on their own club's websites should learn a bit of respect themselves!
Example of one clubs rules " Respect should be shown to your instructor at all times" , Hows about respect to all martial artists and instructors (is obviously not a priority of that club LOL? )
The conduct of some of those clubs' (meaning the clubs i dont work with) black belts at my previous shows has been disgusting.
Anyway back onto the topic Craig, its going to be another Craigs Kapap girls against the Keris newcastle girls. Your little girl fighter is a prospect in my opinion.
Ill speak to you today mate.
Hi
You did not answer the question about who Yousif won his title against? he did fight on the first Showdown? so isn't your thread a contradiction?
Also to be the best promoter mate you have to have the best fighters on don't you :loopy:? Its like saying your the best football team but not winning anything?
Who would you say you have had on? to make you the best promoter or your shows the best? I take it you have heard the names
Christian Di Paulo
Marlon Hunt
Waine Turner
Kerry Louise
Marc Sargeant
Alex Mckenzie
Scott Sykes
So i take it its just in your head you think your the best promoter? and i would post carfully when you reply or we could end up in the ring mate? but lets face it that wouldnt happen would it? as you are full of excuses?
Blue-Eagle 19-11-2008, 15:27 HI
Im that Yousif Ibrahim who fought KIRAN LOMAX for the I.S.K.A belt. You said that i fought a weak opponent for my title fight?? i find that extremely offensive just to let you know Kiran fought abroad and he is in the england squad (i believe). He has had lot of experience and he is a complete FC rules fighter.i being kickboxing for only 3 years and to win a iska belt to me is great.
Please dont try and undermine what i have achieved.
AHEM AHEM as i conclude my speech i would like to say AFK shows are best in sheffield so0 take it like a man n SHUT THE HELL UP....
:D

i think you need to read the thread again nobody said Kieran is a weak opponent!!! chefkicker says that on showdown shows they have weak fighters which to me did not make sense if some of the same fighters fight on AFK shows!! understand before you comment
Sorry if i offended you blue eagle it was not my intention any one entering the ring deserves the greatest respect and yes to win a title is a fantastic thing.
We know a fighter can only fight who his coach agrees to so this is in no way a dig at you or your achievement, but when cheffkiker brags about being the best well i only wanted to know if it was the same kieron lomax that fought on the octagon show i would love to know his record not to belittle you but to understand why iska/chefkiker would let a light continous lad fight for a FC title.
( i knew i said i wouldnt post again but thats it no more ).
blackeyed 19-11-2008, 17:50 Wow this is all very intence
Wow this is all very intence, any chance you guys get together for a one off Tornament with prize money winner takes all??????????? id be tempted to pay to watch that.
Chefkicker can match make after all hes the main guy in this field. Can anyone log down their weights and styles so i can have an idea to what could be on show.
i would only want to fight chefkicker who ever he is any rules any show tell him bring it on
pretty boy 20-11-2008, 16:45 chefkicker to say theres nothing wrong with your show you spend alot of time defending it. I've been to your show and there maybe nothing wrong with the fights or fighters because it takes alot to get in the ring so i aint going to insult them, the whole running of the show is amateur standard. I don't see why you start these little arguements you sound like a 2 year old. Showdown got the biggest name to fight on there show and fight someone from abroad who was excellent and also gave us the chance to see christian fight in real life whats the biggest name you've ever got?
You guys bite so easily, he's winding ya up ffs. LOL. :P
Your proberbly right scarby i say lets be friends chefkiker all water under the bridge i mean i get some right agro for aruing with you on here, come on olive branch is out lets all hug and start a new what do you fellas think,
Blue Eagle Im sorry i have seen you fight on a number of occasions in rotherham and sheffield you are talented and will hopefully go a long way in kickboxing so keep it up fella
