I currently have a PS2 but was thinking of trading it in for an Xbox, as Xbox for me has more titles that interest me then PS2 has now.

Looking at the new machines I would be torn (along with my wallet) as which to go for. will have to wait for more info on the machines, or just wait until they comeout and get an Xbox as they're sure to go down even more in price :clap:

I wouldnt buy one straight away though as its bound to start off at some crazy price.

without seeing the specs id say id be more likely to go for something that Microsoft make. Ive seen too many people have problems when it comes to playstations, both 1 and 2

I love my PS2 so Im going to pre-order the new PS3 for next spring.. its twice more powerful than the new xbox by the way as well.

It just looks very pretty to me.. and its got a lot of cool new features that I like very much.

Also you can play PSX + PS2 games on it as well.

I wonder if the laser will last longer than six months this time:suspect:

Im just wondering whether or not I can install a bigger HD into it- say 200gb or more.. that will be a deciding factor for me getting the PS3 also.

I just wouldn't think of playing PS1 games on a PS2. Unless a game was a true classic – in which case there'd most likely be a bigger, better follow-up available on the superior system.

I don't really buy into the whole retro games thing to be honest. The vast majority of old games look rubbish and play rubbish compared to the newer ones, which after all often have millions of pounds spent on them in terms of development.

Playing old games on a new system is like buying a Ferrari and driving at 25mph.

but when you buy your ps3 you're likely to have lots of old ps2 games and 1 or 2 ps3 games. So it allows for a transition time as you build up your collection of ps3 games.

I think the old ones are far better than the new games. Just take Space Invaders or Pong, you can't get much better than that!:clap:

I really think that because Sony know the name stands for summat in they eye of the consumer. This is why they can whack a heafty price on it (whatever it is) and also know that any design faults that may lead to the failure of the product is a good thing, cos you'll just buy another one as it'll be just outside warrantly when it knackers. .

Full version of PS3 will be over £400, that fact alone is enough to put me off it.

I mean come on, even Microsoft only charged £280 for the full Xbox 360 with hard drive.

Sony has more zealots with more money than sense though, who would buy used bog roll if it had a Sony logo on the packet.

It looks very sleek, almost designer! Comes with a designer price too! Nice.

I'm not that bothered about consoles, they just pass a little time once in a while. I buy sony consoles cos I've had both the other 2, never had anyproblems and I just find the games better, and I like the controller a lot more.

On the other hand, I hate microsoft, and bill gates.

Maybe people are starting to get round to seeing that the "eye kandy" games aint really all that. In that the PSP was the big thing when it came out, and everyone looked at the DS like whats that serposed to be. But Look at the DS go now. Just goes to show that UBER^ Power dont really mean much, and if the Wii / ps3 goes along the same lines then maybe they will be a 3 horse battle for the top of the gameing world.

At first was holding out for the PS3 but then the delay till Oct / Nov hit, so just got sick of waiting, so went to get a 360, with the intension of selling it off just before the ps3 came out, but kind of took to it now, was a bit disapointed at first, coz like what has allready been said games are just the same, just nicer to look at.

But then slowly the wii information was coming out, which if the controler works well, and i mean works "really" Well then its going to be wii's all round.

Then in saying all that once Devil may cry / GTA 4 comes out on the PS3 no doubt i will find some money burning in some pocket and be forced to buy one of them as well. :hihi:

I only bought that for Nintendogs, Tetris and New Super Mario Bros.

I won Nintendogs on Ebay last week, tried it out, don't really like it, might trade it in when GAME gets any copies of Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney in, been reading rave reviews of that from American sites.

I did buy one, then the Miss's got hold of it and aint had a chance to play on it since :huh:
