Having my boss have a go at me this mornning for something that is not my fault, and have pretty much the whole team collapse around me i thought id start a ranting thread for those of us who get mad at work. So instead of hitting your boss, get it off your chest here!

Im gonna start my saying:
"My boss is a complete dullen. It is his job to improve communication. He sent me to a GP's practice yesterday where i spend all day trying to establish network connectivity between the practice and the servers in Leeds ready for the new software - only to find after about 5 hours that the people who MAKE the software have run their own connectivity test!? AND that BT havent opened the firewall ports. So why was i there? And he alse decreed a few weeks ago that we cannot leave a surgery unless we first call him. He of course rejected my call when i was ready to leave so i spent half an hour constantly calling him, and eventually he picked up and told me "i will speak to you tomorrow mate". MATE? Im not his mate!

So today in the office he comes up to me and says "I NEVER want you to call me when im on site at a practice, and i NEVER want to hear you say 'its all a disaster' again ok?" When i tired to counter his argument he just said "NO! Let me finish - you dont ever say 'its a disaster' again - ok?" I said "Yer ok" and then he just said "right ok then" and sat down!? Then he has a go at my colleague for no apparent reason. Then he comes to me and says "I need that connectivity test from NOW...why have'nt i got it yet? Even if the tests fail i still need it"...im like its quater to nine....i have only been in the office 5 minutes and my pc isnt even switched on...but i gave it to him when i had typed it...and then he like "oh thanks bud..thats great" and he treating me like his best friend now?! :suspect:

I feel much better for that...

Why are bosses such complete arses?

Why dont they think about what they are doing or saying before hurting peoples feelings.

STILL there is always someone higher up than your boss to complain to if it is going bad.

I'd err on the side of caution about saying anything about your boss/workmates on a public forum. Things like that are best left in the privacy of your own home.

Unfortunatly the pratts who run this company expect everyone to do double there workload in the same amount of time- let me tell them- IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the subject of work, I read this morning that Tesco as sharing something like £24 million between their employees as a bonus, thats about £4K each.

One of the bosses is getting a £2 million bonus though.

It's much more than that, and the directors are all getting £12 million bonuses.

my rant is that the company doesn't see the sense in installing a decent network connection and having people work from their base locations, they'd rather pay us all to travel and stay in hotels.
I worked out that they'd save 10k on me alone if I worked for 1 day a week over 6 months from home or my base office.

There are 4 bosses where I work, the big boss who is boss of the other 3 is a tyrant, he's so rich he doesnt even need to work here but I think he gets a great deal of satisfaction belittling people.

He once showed me one of his utility bills which had a total of £10,000 on it, then proceeded to tell me thats how much it cost to run his family home and I should think myself lucky that I live a simple life, what an arse.

Boss number 2 is a miserable git, he told me and 2 of my colleagues yesterday to stop talking and get on with some work, I swear it was like being in school again.

Boss 3 is an alcoholic and gets away with it when he is drunk on work premises.

Boss 4 is so nervous of confrontation its a wonder how she even got this far in her career, when a complaint was made to her about boss 3 she actually told the staff member complaining "What do you want me to do about it".

This place I work in is a joke, I cant wait to move to Sheffield and get out of here.

On the news just now that Posties are to get a 1K bonus and the boss of the Royal Mail a cool million or two, - yet they're still miles off their target for next day delivery of 1st. class mail.

The price of failure ? :loopy:

Life's just too short to sit there in a rubbish job being shouted at. Next time just tell them "I'm a grown up - I don't expect to be spoken to like that. Shall we start that conversation again?"

Better still apply for some other jobs, REGISTER with one or two employment agencies, get on a training course, open the horizon above the barricade!

You may be surprised at how desperate employers are to get good workers - there's no massive unemployment problem nowadays!

Dont put up with bad bosses, jack it in! These guys never change, they are usually sad individuals with no life outside work. They try to reduce their workforce to the same level of misery they are experiencing. Have confidence in your own abilities and walk.
