Yep:thumbsup:

I adore them just mashed. They are quite watering though, and are sometimes better cooked with ordinary potatoes, and mashed together to give them body.

You cna bake them like a normal jacket.

You can boil and mash them, though I find they can be a bit watery.

Roast them with some garlic and mashed up is yummy!

make them into chips

Must confess I have never tried it deep frying, but I cut them up, spray with a littl oil and bake them, which is how I 'chip' other things.

I guess a bit of trial and error on the chipping might be in order!

They're surprisingly good sliced thinly and used in a stir-fry.

Ye, I can well imagine, because Ive noticed that they cook very quickly. Much quicker than ordinary potatoes.

For the sweet tooths... cut, boil mash with butter and brown sugar, top off with mini marshmallows , bake till browned on top.

i always cook them with skins on (prick skins first) till soft in the microwave- nicer than baked in the oven i think, they don't take as long as regular jacket potatoes-keep an eye on them!

I tried chipping them once, as a test but they were soggy and didn't crisp up like normal potato chips. I love them roasted with a few herbs and spices, maybe with a few other vegeables roasted up. If I have lots of them sometimes I keep he left over ones and add them to salads.

Nice too as jackets, with some nice cottage cheese with chives.

sweet potato dauphinoise is to die for!

Thinly slice them and layer in a dish.
In a pan, quickly fry lots of crushed garlic, add single cream and parmesan and boil until the cream has reduced by half. pour this mix over the sweet potatoes and bake for 30 mins or so at GM5 (190 c).

Baked like jacket potatoes and served with spicy peanut butter: http://books.google.co.uk/books?hl=en&id=MSKjONWYksoC&dq=world+food+cafe+2&printsec=frontcover&source=web&ots=H1RUe9nWMB&sig=t9BXchYSR_ySlq_D2eIWvfQzU6s&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=5&ct=result#PPA40,M1 Very nice combination of flavours, and you can just leave the chilli out if you're not into spicy.

If you chop them into chunks, then roasting them with a bit of oil is lovely...

In Canada they make them into fries instead of potatoes.

Personally I'd either mash them and add to potato or use them in a casserole with lamb and Moroccan spices. I have a Moroccan cookbook and have used them with beef, shallots and various spices, slow cooked then served with couscous and yogurt.

They are more related to the carrot than the potato, so have less carbohydrate and more protein
