A long shot I know, but I wondered if anyone ever saw The Clash make their live debut at The Black Swan, Sheffield in 1976?
I'd be intersted to know, although I doubt anyone on these forums did. But if you don't ask you don't get!
The Black Swan!! OMG! I always wondered what that was . . . I have a sticker of it on a mirror in my house.
I thought it must be some long forgotten beer or something . . . Now I know - so it was a pub. ;)

Yes indeed the black swan, more affectionately known as the Mucky Duck is now The Boardwalk and still has live bands. I never got to see the Clash, I was only 13 so still had to be in at 9 each night lol, but I did make up for it the year I turned 14 and became a punk with a vengeance

I didn't see the Clash but I did go to the Mucky Duck on Friday lunchtimes to see the Go Go dancers and take part in the silly games they played . Anybody remember the limbo competition or Mighty Melvin?
I remember winning a pint and having to go on stage to collect it. When I jumped off the stage I knocked somebody elses pint over and ended up giving him the one I had just won. Happy days.
