Woohoo, chuffed to bits that my first ever entry into DSLR User's 2 week photo challenge got a "mention".
Not a prize, just a mention outside the top 3 but I'm pleased as punch considering it was taken on my first proper trip out with my DSLR

Needed a Photoshop session to bring it out, dodging and burning to make something of the sky. The original "as shot" was pale and bland, I'd written it off until I discovered the dodge and burn tools recently.
Some of yours are far from "meagre attempts" Hemlock, especially some of your detail shots. Mine are just "hit and miss" (mostly miss, occasionally I fall lucky and take a half decent one. :D)
Mine are ALL hit & miss! I think when you see a photo you really like - your own somehow don't look half as good - as you always aspire to be something you're not! Other people always seem to capture what you would love to capture - but never quite get there.
Oh well, one day....

Ooooh I really like this picture and love the reflection of light in the water on the ground. It's got a very ethereal feel to it.
Hey thats nice how it leads the eye in using the path :)
