Last night my staffy Santino who goes to sleep downstairs without a fuzz everynight went a bit crazy. He started running into the safety gate at the bottom of the stairs with such force it came of the wall.We told him off and he sulked and as soon as we went to bed he did it again! This happened 8 times until I ended up sleeping downstairs with him my hubby needed to sleep he had work this morning. Is he just being naughty?Could the fireworks going off have made him scared?

It could be the fireworks i know they have the same effect on Spot oh and the cat brining a mouse in also results in her trying to come and tell us.
Its so sad that people get hold of fireworks earlier and earlier every year and last well into January.
Give them both a hug from me and tell him not to worry it will be January soon, it might be an idea to try a DAP defuser though.

prob the fireworks, our staffy gets so scared she vomits, 7 times in one night last year, we always stay in with her when fireworks are going off.
who's selling fireworks up there then?
we've had no bother at all (touch wood) since they raised the age from 16 to 18 fir purchasing them
is there a shop near you selling them to kids or something?
perhaps a quick call to trading standards is in order?

We've got some idiot setting them off every night since beginning of october (got money to burn thats all i can say :loopy:)
We took our staffy out yesterday, when we came back he was fine, we popped back out again, and left him in the house, on returning home he was very sulky and a little scared (not like him, only acts like that when we take him to the vets ), he needed alot of reassurance, took a few hours but got there in the end ,even ended up giving him a bath :hihi:think the fuss worked :hihi:Now am thinking it could have been the idiot with the fireworks thats scared him( theres whats left of a rocket in our back garden)
So what do you after do, sedate your pets every night ,i feel really sorry for people whose pets are petrified of the things because of "mindless pillocks"
Our dog used to do that when there was fireworks - he used to sleep in a dog crate and he somehow managed to get out :(
