Why the orginal Corparation Nightclub closed down on bank street

I have some great memories of that place Good music soggy chip buttys cheap random coloured drinks old playstation 1s carpeted floors Great women well sort of :D

After friday night i refuse to go to the new Corp its gone down hill alot its very grotty even for a rock scene and seems to be full of underage people that wear hardly any clothes and are constantly running around everyone trying to score which isnt very pleasent

Does anyone know why the first one closed down as i dont remember???
Am guessing someone is going to tell me for the same reasons :help:

Long story, basically the authorities don't like them, and I think they wanted the building for something else.

They moved to Milton Street, Sheffield, S1 4JU.

The building is nowhere near as good as what they had on bank street, but it is still a good nightclub.

None of the above compare with Rebels (dixon lane) though, a club with great atmosphere and great people closed down due to some health and safety busybody regulations about fire escapes.....

Personally, i would rather have Rebels back and burn having a good time rather than die of boredom in a club with little or no atmosphere.

I don't think they owned the building. And when their lease was up they had to move out because the property was to be altered to offices.

Weren't they moving to the old courts for a while? I seem to remember talk of them making the dock into the DJ booth?

Agreed, If you were capable of getting into rebs you could be thrown down the stairs in the event of a fire,... regs Pah! it was fab, a clique club for the in crowd. Corp is not a patch on it, its just a glorified Roxys. (sorry maybe I'm too old school..)

I worked and played in Rebs and they made my wild days fabulous, and I also met my dearheart in there. We all had our place to stand in the club (ours was the bottom pillar near the DJ box ) :D

Hit, nail and head there my friend! Fridays is "Indie" night in one of the rooms. All those students etc. Get in on a Saturday with the metal crowd. Much better.

Won't alter the building itself though.

The local solicitors in the area did not like the idea of the rock club on their door step.
