hi could anyone help ,i have a couple of questions 1 is why does my cooling fan start running flat out when i connect to internet ? & 2 if my base unit has a socket for phone line does it mean it has a internal modem or is it for networking ? thanks

The fan will turn on / speed up and slow down as and when required to keep your CPU cool, if your online your CPU etc are doing more and producing more heat... if it never slows down it may be that there's too much dirt/dust in there for the fan to be efficient enough.

and the phone socket will be for a normal (older style) 56k dialup modem, and not for broadband.. there is the possibility that you could have a LAN (Network) port on there also, that is slightly bigger than a standard phone line socket.
