We want to start and try for a baby whilst on our honeymoon BUT we will be taking malaria tablets.

Done a bit of research and some types say you can’t try to conceive for three months after you take the last tablet!!!

Are there any types that are safe to take whilst trying to conceive?

from what i've read then no. no tablets are 100% effective in stopping malaria so even if you did take 'safe' tablets theres still a chance you could be conceiving a baby who could then go on to develop abnormalities. i know its not a very nice thing to say but if you want to make sure your future babies have got the best possible start then i'd wait 3 months and be on the safe side.

where are you going on holiday? Sometimes they say the chances of catching malaria are so slim that your more likely to have side effects from the pills.

I suppose you have to weigh up the pro's and con's of taking the pills and waiting for 3 months or not taking the pills and getting malaria (if your going to Africa then it's a no brainer, you need to take the pills really - if your going to the Caribbean then you have some moving space)
