does anyone know why and are they missing summat in their diet?

My dogs eat cat poo too - they're on a good diet but apparently cat poo tastes sweet...

Don't ask me who found that out or how... I'd rather not know :lol:

My dogs are fed Burns they have always eaten cat poo and rabbit poo. One has even been known to eat human poo.:gag:

Cat poo is very strong smelling which is what attracts. Dont worry it is perfectly normal for dogs to eat and roll in disgusting things

Yeah my lot adore rabbit poo or rabbit malteasers as my o/half calls em. Not nice but hey dogs will be dogs.
Remeber once my lot rolled in a decomposing hedgehog i was sick walking them home it smelt so bad but they thought they were the bees knees.

Yup my three are the same - well not the collie so much but thats purely because her sight and smell are now soo poor she isnt as good at tracking down a crunchy piece of cat poo as she used to be - a habbit we discourage but not one that the dogs are ever going to give up in a hurry Im afraid :)

my four monsters does that too,and they are fed on the raw meat and bone diet(BARF),we also have seven cats,so you can imagine,litterboxes has to be cleared straight away,it seems they go for the undigested protein in the poo(yuk)

Dog poo tastes like salmony cheese, it tastes nothing like it smells.

Molly likes nothing better than a litter tray to pick from (or a kitten who will offer their bum for a wash)!

I don't think I know any dogs who don't have at least a passing interest in poo actually.

Maybe it's to do with a destroying another animals scent? If a bigger animal can't smell it then they're personal patch is safer? lol OMG so many S*** eaters in one room, JUST DON'T lick my mouth, you mangey MUTT!:D

There is nothing worse than seeing Basil sheepishly entering the living room having been raiding the litter tray crunching away. I thought that hooded litter trays would deter him......didnt work.:gag:

Strangley none of mine have ever eaten Horse poo and they see a lot of that, obviously they are not keen vegetarians.

HHhmmmm BOTH my dogs have a fetish for sticking their heads in the cat tray. I got one with a hood and a cat flap too but they STILL do it! Mr SpeedDemon calls them "chocolate logs":gag: My GSD went thru a phase of eating his own poo off the patio too. We got him a course of tablets from the vets, and they seemed to work, although they don't deter him from the cat tray. The "eating their own poo" thing is called coprophagia.
