Hi kickboxing fans

The Octagon centre will once again host the 'showdown' kickboxing events,Showdown 5, (there was only supposed to be 2 events each year but such was the demand for local fighters to fight on the show the promoters decided that this year there would be 3 shows.)

Proberbly the best thai and k1 fighter in the UK Christian Di Paulo will be fighting an opponent from Portugal Flavio Teixira.for a wfkko world title

the event also features fighters from SDF, Sheffield Academy, Studio 2000 Derby,St George Nottingham, York, Lincoln and Manchester.and of cause a team from Portugal.

Fights will be WAKO K1 and Full Contact

Once again some world class kickboxing as well as intermediate and novice bouts all in one night, if i can get the full card i ll post it on here,

my mate Adam Lawrence is fighting for a WAKO area title, he's a great fighter to watch

ive seen the posters and there seems to be quite a few sheffield fighters on this one,

i know some shows only have two or three sheffield fighters and the rest from out of

town.

I'm looking forward to watching some of Sheffields up and coming talent as well as

Cristian should be a good night.

A finely tuned Randall had already been let down by one opponent before the night and the experienced Shaun Lomas stepped in to raise the level. Randall, not scared of been tested looked strong, mature and confident. Not taking anything away from Shaun, he is very skilfull but Randall was in there to win and he did it very well.

Unanimous Winner Lawrence

A skilled and experianced Kelly (WAKO champion) was beaten by the younger Lawrence who remained focused throughout the bout. Kelly started off very strong and showed great skill, but Lawrence grew in confidence as the bout went on and took the fight away from Kelly in the latter rounds.

A very strong Andy Johnson was edged out of the fight and title by Varela who won on a Majority decision, very entertaining and not the last we have seen of Johnson by any means!

Marc Sargeant was way in front and got caught with an unlucky, but powerful kick which stopped the fight. Marcs form was good and as strong as ever and we look forward to seeing him fight in the near future.

A skilled Texiero was pressurised constantly by Di Paolo, who always looked like a KO was on the cards for him throughout the bout. Tremendous strength and power added to Christians superb technique. A thundering right sat Texiero down for the second time from which he could not recover.
