Rivelin6 07-10-2008, 19:37 hi all.. i am wondering if anyone else saw this yesterday, and what are your thoughts on the matter? Yes I saw it but wasn't surprised at the findings. Wasn't very entertaining though;) ashi23 07-10-2008, 20:54 i thought it was very interesting ... it shows that despite all the efforts at integrating society as a whole...there is still a large amount of discrimination...that is not just targeting towards visible ethnic minorities either..i know of a case where a Slovakian family was ousted from it's home by neighbours, just because there were deemed to be too many of them living under the same roof!!.. Hell i lived next door but one, and they never bothered me..but the rest of hte neighbours in the street just had to have a pop at them... anyway...sorry for straying from the subjest, but i understand that even the Met Black Police Association have acknowledged the problem and issued a statement ... "Within days of Sir Ian Blair announcing his resignation as Commissioner, the BPA, which has 17,000 members nationally, said: “The Metropolitan Black Police Association will, as of today, totally boycott all recruitment drives initiated by the Metropolitan Police Service to attract black and ethnic minority recruits and police staff. “We will actively discourage (through our extensive community network) potential applicants from applying to join the Metropolitan Police. We will take out a series of actions in the foreseeable future in support of our goal. " bizzle 07-10-2008, 22:29 I watched the Programme but was not surprised in the slightest. The programme that the did 5 years ago that did shock me (The Secret Policeman in Manchester) Especially all the undercover footage they showed & some was highlighted in yesterday's show. The hate these people must have in their heart & mind. Total ignorace. I thought Jeffrey Sidhu was brave for wanting to go back to his employment despite the turmoil he had been through. It is amazing how working environments can cover up racism & behave like it is not happening. They cant be good human beings if they have to hide the truth it says a lot about them as people. Complete utter b*ankers. ashi23 07-10-2008, 23:19 I watched the Programme but was not surprised in the slightest.
