View Full Version : Blades looking for derby treble...
Stockers 07-10-2008, 13:45 our Acedemy under 16 and under 18 teams beat Wednesday 4-0 and 2-0 respetively.
i'd take the average out of those two on the 19th Oct 3-0 to the Blades would be just great.
Thingything 07-10-2008, 14:04 Shouldve played them v Arsenal in carling cup;)

Bryan Nobson
Correct, he was a numpty.
But weren't you supposed to destroy us at Bramall Lane?
bladebloke 07-10-2008, 15:58 But weren't you supposed to destroy us at Bramall Lane?
as you know football throws up the odd surprise.
but in the history of sheffield derbys, united have come out on top the most. and have done the double since the general strike of 1926. and won an away derby since man stepped on the moon.
alex3659 07-10-2008, 16:02 Keep building yourselves up fellas, you were supposed to beat us last season, but it didn't happen, did it ?

Michael_W 07-10-2008, 16:12 thing is if we beat you you will still go on about last year , living in the past talking about kasi slushton in europe etc .

Ahhhhhh, Wednesdays famous European Tour!! :loopy:
thing is if we beat you you will still go on about last year , living in the past talking about kasi slushton in europe etc .
And you never mention the other Derby matches that you won to argue against what we say?
All fans look into/mention history, get over it!

din't the reserves wallopp em as well earlier this season
NERVY-OWL 07-10-2008, 20:14 why shouldnt we go back to last season, easy 6 points you lot kept saying but you managed 1 point. all fans will go back to past glorys, even if its not much to try to get one over their rivals. if we lose on 19th then i bet iwont be long before bb mentions the last time we did double, like we care. i try not to mention europe etc cos its the past but last season is close enough to mention, its all we'd hear from you lot if roles were reversed:thumbsup:
canadablade 07-10-2008, 21:09 . i try not to mention europe etc cos its the past
Lets be honest though David theres really not much to mention is there.
You beat CA Spora Luxembourg 10-2 on aggregate and then when you played a real team called FC Kaiserslautern you got beat 5-3 over 2 legs.
Pity really because in the next round Ajax of Amsterdam could have really caned you and the Blades on here would still be going on about it :hihi::hihi:
discodown 07-10-2008, 21:18 What happened last season doesn't matter. What happened in the 90's doesn't matter. Winning a cup or a league title decades ago doesn't matter. What matters is what happens on the day
barmyowls 07-10-2008, 21:22 Shouldve played them v Arsenal in carling cup;)
:hihi: Odd but arsenal reserves only just won stoke reserves 3-2
perhaps arsenal reserves played better against blades first team :hihi:
bladebloke 07-10-2008, 21:30 . if we lose on 19th then i bet it wont be long before bb mentions the last time we did double,
would I.;)
NERVY-OWL 07-10-2008, 22:20 the cups, europe etc were before my time so i dont see the point anyway, i missed out on all that. we did beat you last season and till that changes then of course we are going to mention it when we can. if utd do beat us then of course bragging rights go back to you lot but till then we will mention it as much as we like:thumbsup:

understand what yer saying dave. but last season is now history so if were talking history in the league we have met 121 times.
united have won 44
wendy have won 39
draws 38
goals scored. united 168 wendy 159
so if wendy win the next 6 meetings then the bragging rights go to you lot.
but till then we will mention it as much as we like

Suprised at you BB Letting a great post like that go to waste by not adding how many times each team has done the double over each other and when was the last time etc etc
You know the saying " Rub a little salt into the wounds" :hihi::hihi:

Winning a cup at wembley against a vastly superior team in terms of players, finances and a division above us
Even though it was a short lived journey at least we got there
The only time you have been in Europe was on your holiday

I'm not taking the Washing Machine Cup away from you, even now i'd be over the moon if the Blades won the League Cup.
I find it amusing when Wednesday fans come out with the old classic "have you lot won Cups and been on European Campaigns?" - the answers is no, but i'd hardly call 3 matches a European Campaign.
I don't holiday in Europe any more, thats for common sparky's!!!

What happened to 'what happens on the day matters' & 'history doesn't count'?

My point exactley, i think its gonna be 1 hell of a close game and obviously scrappy, its usally a mistake or a fabulous goal what wins a derby or its a boring 0-0.
Saying that We controlled massive parts of both games last season.
bladebloke 08-10-2008, 19:32 Saying that We controlled massive parts of both games last season.
you scored your first at the lane against the run of play. after half time you had a couple of half chances. after that it was one way traffic. think you had one more chance to pinch it at the end.
controlled massive parts my massive back side.
