Oh dear, blazing summer eh? Must get a new watering can for the flower beds and pots. And here was I hoping for rain, or least a lot of nice drizzle.

Hot summers are what you get when you pay to go to Spain!

Here is latest prediction from the nice weather people...

Summer 2005 - Latest Update May 2005
The Met Office's Hadley Centre produces global experimental seasonal forecasts for precipitation and temperature, to get a picture of weather in the coming months. The forecast for this summer (June, July and August) favours a trend towards average to above average temperatures in Scotland and southwestern parts of England. For rest of the UK however, temperatures look to be around average.

For southwestern parts of the UK below average rainfall may be experienced, whereas elsewhere rainfall amounts are likely to be around average. These figures however, are the predicted general trends for the summer as a whole and what we must remember are the individual regional and temporal events which characterise our true British summer.

the met office haven't said there will be a heat wave this summer, the papers got the wrong end of the stick again and it's perpetuated from there. weathermen cannot accurately forecast more than 7 days ahead

Heatwave predictions , this Summer:-

Gotta agree.
I can't think of any other institute such as the Met office, where if you were to f**k up in your chosen profession as often as they do, you'd still have a job to go to the next day!:evil:

SWFC excluded:lol:

Indeed, they have all of this expensive equipment, but alas, they still forecast incorrect weather.

:)

EDIT: It's 1.43pm (contrary to the SF's clock), and it's raining cats and dogs here in north Kent.

Never fear -----global warming is
on its way.
It won't be too long now before Wigan is producing its first grapes , Scunthorpe will have dozens of attractive pavement cafes and the South Coast will have disappeared under 5ft. of water.
How do we know this ?
Well , for a start the weather experts have warned us ---------and since when have they been wrong ?
So , although this year's British summer seems like Autumn in Iceland , take heart ! The warm weather is just around the corner !

You got your wish then nobikejohn. A two day scorcher of a heatwave at the end of the week. I ended up with sunburn on the back of my neck, and heat exhaustion, and hid indoors from the sun on the second day of the heatwave. Phew, it was hot! Nicely cooled down since then. Much nicer.
