View Full Version : How Many Men Wear Make-up?
I don't and never have. I do use moisturiser and occasionally other kinds of cleansing products but that's about it. I've always wondered about using foundation/concealer to cover under-eye bags after a heavy night though.
FairyNormal 14-05-2005, 20:11 I love men in make up especially black eyeliner.
But partial to red lipstick too but mayb ethat's going a bit far for most men on here!
royjames 15-05-2005, 13:49 lol you cant beat a bit of foundation to cover the wrinkles and a lttle eye liner would also look good.
Oh and not to forget the mascara ,this is a must for any self respecting man, and to finish off maybe a touch of le fragarance.
There all done and ready for the night out.;)
BrainThrust 15-05-2005, 13:52 I've only gone as far as the black eyeliner and never onto foundation or concealer.
Thats was onyl when I went through my 'dye my hair black' phase though
Wilf
I use a 'Face Protector' from the Body Shop, 'cos otherwise my T-Zone gets very dry and peels.
And that's your lot!
Tend not to use aftershave, deodorant or anti-perspirant either. This may explain why people kepe a distance form me in the summer... ;)
Joe
does moisturiser count as makeup
Robbie Loving 15-05-2005, 16:01 i've worn make up before, like in plays etc, i was once a male fairy ha ha. had blusher mascara, eyeliner the lot.
but i do use concealer whenever it is needed just for blemishes.
JonJParr 15-05-2005, 16:13 I don't wear make-up at all. However, I do have a skincare routine (Clinique M-Shave Gel, Clinique Anti-Blemish Face Wash, Anthony Logistic Algae Face Wash and then Post Shave Healer).
I finish off with a bit of Acqua di Parma Blue Mediterranean Basil Aftershave. It's completely organic and contains no artificial fragrance.
I'd never even consider wearing make-up.
can you get specific male concealer ? And if yes is it limited to hyper expensive Clinique type brands?
I know a male friend who wears make up ie., concealer...foundation...bit of clear mascara to emphasise the eyes etc...why not!!
I don't see why men shouldn't wear make up!!
I grew up in the new romantic era and was in awe of the make up worn by the likes of Boy George, Steve Strange, Adam Ant etc!!
It was quite normal in them days for lads to wear black eyeliner, heavy blushers and lipstick!!
:D

Not the back-combed tresses and the dangly hanky that drew you then? :suspect: :D
redrobbo 16-05-2005, 01:31 Nope, don't wear make-up (except on stage).
I even gave away that expensive bottle of after-shave Aunt Elsie once gave me for a present - funny how she'd never noticed I've got a beard! :)
Don't wear make up but sometimes when Ive been on a mucky job and get covered in black it looks like I have eyeliner on!!!
Being naturally handsome I have no need to enhance my looks!!! :heyhey:
I've never worn make-up as such, but I do use moisturiser.
I was a big fan of Robert Smith in the 80's and would have loved to go out looking like him, lipstick and all, but I was chicken.

I am sure you experimented in your bedroom whilst blasting out 'Lovecats'.....!!

:hihi:
DanSumption 16-05-2005, 14:46 I only wear it for acting these days, or very special occasions. But for a while in my teens I used to stick on a bit of eye-liner whenever I went out for the evening. I even had pointy boots (with skull buckles!)
I had a lot of make-up on last week though, for some filming I was involved with, I got very drunk afterwards and didn't take it off when I got home. I started the day looking like Lux Interior, but the next morning I looked like Robert Smith (http://www.sumption.org/lifeless/images/DanAsRobertSmith.jpg).
(funnily enough, a friend of mine's mum used to go out with Robert Smith in the 80s :))
