Been playing with my new DSLR.
Has anyone else found that they struggled to get decent shots at first after upgrading?
So many settings and buttons and things to remember!!!!!!

I must have taken 100's of shots just to practice. I'm trying to avoid just sticking it on auto.

Anyway, here's a couple I quite like.

I like the top one, the 2nd one is a good shot but the birds are kind of camouflaged in the bush

Good shots non the less

Yes, and I've been accustomed to 35mm SLR's in the past (though I had a 10 year break from "proper" photography before I got my DSLR)

DSLRs ARE simpler in a way, no need to mess around with different speeds of film, no need to mess around with a whole bag full of filters (though many are still useful), but it takes a while learning all the buttons for things.

Keep playing, I've noticed a lot of difference since I started using mine earlier this year, and hopefully I'll keep improving
