Can anyone tell me why the following happens when I dream.

1 - I always wake up just as it gets intresting
2 - There are no seasons in my dreams
3 - I can go to the toilet in the middle of a dream and then go back to the dream in the exact same place I left it.

Does this happen to everyone, or just me.

Happens to me too! In bad dreams I have found myself thinking in the dream that I am only dreaming and if I wake up it will stop. Then I wake up! Handy when you are about to be shot or attacked by a crow, as regularly happens in my dreams!

Also real sounds some times get incorporated in the dream. A while ago my alarm was going off one morning and in my dream there was a house alarm going off and I didn't wake up!

I can wake up, go back to sleep, and pick the dream up again - but it's never as good when I've done that though.

I'm not so sure that many people can do it though (tell me differently on here?) - we must be very special people!

If I wake up earlier than I need to and at an interesting point in a dream I can usually get back to sleep and pick it up again.

I think most people can continue dreams.

It`s odd, that if I wake up and then go back to sleep and carry on the dream I can remember the entire dream.

Someone told me though you only dream just before you wake up, so how can we dream wake up and then carry on dreaming.

Special people indeed.

The alarm thing happened to me too!! I was asleep the other day (er..night) and suddenly in the middle of the dream thought "oh ****, I have forgotten to set my alarm" decided to wake up and it was 6.01am!! amazing.. I was only 1 minute off! Normally I throw the clock on the floor, but I was so impressed with myself that morning I leapt out of bed!

If im having a bad dream I dunno why but i always start thinking wake up wake up, you have to wake up then I stil bolt upright in a cold sweat.
I also get dreams where something sad has happened and I wake up crying, Petes told me that once or twice while Ive been sleeping I just lay there crying, he tries to talk to me but Im in a deep sleep, can anyone explain that?

This may be a warm happy place to begin with, but soon it will just be cold and wet. I believe there are training pants available. :P

I'm not sure, my mum talks in her sleep and apparently i've done it before and I KNOW that my sister does it because she's so loud!

But when my sister does it she talks faster than she'd ever be able to talk awake, has anyone else experienced that?

I can never catch what she's saying because she's too fast!

My mum once got into bed with my dad (I wasn't there they told me) after being out and starting picking fights. She had a right go at my dad telling him that he'd been miserable all night etc. etc. and my dad was just about losing his rag when my mum shouted 'no no you can't bomb us we're H troup!'

That was when he knew she was asleep.

Hiya,

You definitely remember dreams only if you wake up whilst you're having them - during what's called REM sleep.

If the dream is fairly interesting, you can probably get back to the dream if you go back to sleep fairly quickly, as the chances are your brain will probably get back to where it was quite quickly. Some of the weirdest dreams I've had have been when I've been 'half and half' - so called hypnagogic dreams. They're very vivid!

I've incorporated noises form the outside world in to my dreams, and also events; I've had dreams where there's something pressing on my legs and wake up to find one of the cats resting across them.

The amount of time taken for dreams is also quite interesting - I seem to remember that many dreams are experience din a matter of minutes, even if we think we've been dreamsing for ages.

I've not managed to have much in terms of lucid dreams.

Here's a question - I have been told that when you dream, if you see something that can be read you won't see it carrying the same words twice in the dream. E.g. if you read it it might say 'Hello Joe' and the second time it might read 'Fried eggs'. I've used the odd bits of lucid dreaming that I have had to try this out. It seems to be accurate. Anyone else come across this?

Joe
