I'm bloody sick of my ISP, my downloads recently have been taking ages, speeds around 600b/s, I have horrendous lag when okaying my os3 online aswell. All because bloody aol don't support p2p networking. I wouldn't mind but I'm tied into it for another 15 months.

Is there anything I can do to make it any better, Currently using the standard netgear router that came with the broadband pack.

I'll second that, they just keep getting worse and worse, which is a shame because they used to be OK until the Carphone Warehouse bought them a couple of years ago, things went down hill very quickly after that.

You can try a few things, like changing the MTU setting on your router and using OpenDNS.

Second OpenDNS recommendation, also try plugging something like "bittorrent aol workaround" into google and see what it says.
