View Full Version : Why do clubbers think they are invincible
spyro2000 13-05-2005, 22:16 Why is it that if I drive through Sheffield City centre, (or in fact any city centre), that the clubbers think they are invincible.
Yes I know some of them have been drinking, but not every single one.
They dont look for cars, they just cross the road expecting any drivers to automatically stop. Im posting this because I nearly ran over a girl today who just walked across the road between Cole Brothers and RSVP without looking at all.

lol thats so true. I get it all the time, but I drive a subaru Impreza (with loud music blasting which I know a lot of u dont like lol), so you would have thought it would be common sense that im not a taxi. Extremely obvious

Just out of interest, what do you get out of doing this? You can't possibly hear the actual music when its so loud that it creates mini-earthquakes. We on the outside certainly can't (so if you're trying to impress us with your taste in music, all we can hear is thud thud) so god knows how it sounds at the epicentre.

Aint trying to impress anyone pal. And if I was trying to impress anyone I certainly wouldnt do it on here as Ive read the thread on loud car music and I know most people hate it.
But to answer your question, I honestly dont know, I just like it. And so do plenty of others. Everyones got their own taste, and my taste is loud music.
EDIT: oh sorry, misread what you wrote. No im not trying to impress others with my taste in music on the street either.

Fair enough it's just that such a "taste" is, by its nature, forced on to everyone else in the vicinity. At night in particular, it's inconsiderate at best.

Yes that I understand, which is why I would turn down in Residential areas.
But saying that there are other loud things other than loud music.

I have to agree it does look very sad in residential area's, but when I'm out on the open road I love to have the music blaring and don't care what anyone thinks - it's a great feeling to be driving to your favourite tunes!

Cute_Killa 14-05-2005, 10:31 the taxi thang.... lol
Try having drunk m8s in ya car, whilst given them lifts home all they seem to do is either sleep and when u say "where now?" they just seem to say "carry on". Or u get the hyper ones which keep tapping u on your head and pulling ya seat belt. (which gets really tedius!!) oh and ofcourse the ones that keep saying "i love you, sorry if i ever ****** you off" ...... "(i heard you the first time) Now the 15th.... " lol must b a love hate thang
youwhatref 14-05-2005, 11:23 I try to avoid driving through the centre late on. A few times in the past whilst stood at lights or picking someone up, people just open my doors and start and climb in. On two occasions they've kicked the car when explaining that i'm not a taxi.
Also suprised that on two occasions it was drunk girls and i could have have been any old maniac out there!

Really!? I'm amazed! Thats so unsafe! Some people need their heads examining! I don't even really like to take legit taxis late at night.
I like to have loud music playing in our car, but I would always turn it down around houses. Gotta think of the children. I think lestat was refering to the 'open road'. In answer to your question why? t020, I can see from your avatar that you understand the thrill of having a nice car, to which you could equally ask, why? and the answer would probably be, because I like it.

And these young and not so young females can't figure it out why they get assaulted and worse.

Having a nice car doesn't have a negative effect on other people whereas playing loud music "because I like it" is just inconsiderate.
The louder the music the smaller the penis.
I personally drive a pushbike with a transistor radio:hihi:

It's quite fun playing chicken with them, I've clipped a few with my wing mirrors when they decided to get out of my way after about 10 seconds of me beeping.

I personally think these people are not clubbers but **** heads that go to mainstream clubs. Clubbers are people that are passionate about a certain type of music and go to clubs, where as townies are just people out on the town to get ******. i think they are the main concern as I too have nearly ran them over on numerous occasions.
Jabberwocky 15-09-2006, 10:33 I was driving a van full of cash through Leicester a couple of years ago just as the clubs were emptying and a clever lad thought it might be amusing to lay in the road in front of me.
Its amazing how fast a drunk can move when you put the front bumper of the van over him and rev it up isnt it?

Hehe :hihi:
bluesandtwos 15-09-2006, 10:51 I work nights and unfortunatly do have to ventre through the town centre at these times on jobs, possibly to yet another individual whos "had their drink spiked" (I,d be rich if i had a pound for evertime i hear that excuse from someone who cant admit they dont know when to say no)....If the sirens dont work, I usually find a good blast on the airhorns does.
