Is there such a thing? My daughter really wants a hamster (which i promised after the cat passed away) however, the cats 19 now, and still prances around like a kitten and will probably go on for many more years (fingers crossed). I wouldnt trust him AT ALL with a rodent, he'd just think of it as 'fresh meat' :(

We have a rotastak cage as its plastic so our cat cant get to Harry the Hamster.

The cat sits for hours watching harry in the wheel and has on the occassion sat ontop of the cage. The only way he could get to him would be to push the cage of the table, but he is never left alone with him.

Ive got a cage, not sure what make, its all plastic, and has a removeable wire section at the top. The bars aren't wide enouh for a cat to reach through. Pretty cat proof i should think. Though it would be wise to put the cage where the cats can't reach as our old dog managed to scare a hamster to death by popping his head up to the cage to say hello :/

Searched 'plastic rat cage on google'...
