Thats pretty much it. Some toerag nicked my car last night, it's since been found, recovered, and written off.

Has this happened to you? If so join in my day of generally being pretty hacked off.

That's terrible.

What are you going to do about your business?

It was parked on the road outside a friends house (in Leeds so not directly Sheffield related i know) Police aren't even investigating it, i was informed that no scenes of crime team would be visiting it. That to me suggests that it's ok to pinch cars because we won't even try to find out who did it. I'm just going to have a wonder down the street, see if there're any i fancy.

Second thoughts, i'm going back to bed to wallow :(

Thankfully i've already had 2 people offer me use of their cars for the weekend while i get myself sorted. I might be closing early tonight though as there was about 200 quids worth of my weekend stock in the boot.

Tempted to stay in and get drunk and leave a message on my answerphone saying "You think your ****** of because YOU don't have any beer!"

Second thoughts, no, i could do with the money.

I know how you feel, it happened to me. Mine got nicked right outside my house. I got home after a late shift, having put fuel in on the way home, got up next morning for early shift and no car!. It was found burnt out not far away. So some idiot took it for a joy ride, then set it on fire. It put my insurance premium up substantially and the nitemare of getting to work without it was such a worry, my hubby had to get lifts and let me have his car where possible, or put himself out to drop me off and we had to try to swap shifts . The victim loses every time, crap isn't it.

To add insult to injury, it's already cost me £105 for it to be towed from the roundabout it was dumped on to the garage where it was written off. :(

Feel sorry for the poor little might who borrowed it.
He will have had a hard life.

At least if he is caught, they will send him on holiday to Spain or somewhere to recover from his plight.

Poor little soul.

I can beat that;).

A couple of years ago, something tried to nick my car from outside the house:o, which they failed to do (however, they ripped half the wiring loom in the process of trying to get it started). My insurance co then towed it from our house to an "authorised repair centre" who informed the insurance co it was "un-economic to repair" so I asked them to simply return the vehicel and cancel the claim, which they failed to do, which resulted in me losing 2 years no claims and they billed me for the removal and return of the vehicle to the tune of £165.00!!!

And today..... I received a letter from DVLA saying I was to be fined for not re-licensing a car that I sent the log book in to Swansea as I was no longer the keeper:o

I know exactly how you feel. I had two cars nicked within 3 months last year, from completely different places. The police did investigate one of them and found fingerprints all around the ripped-out remains of the ignition. They had the guy on file so went and arrested him, but he claimed that he saw the car parked on the side of the road (diagonally, with the driver side door lock wrenched out) and, like a kind citizen, turned off the headlights. They let him off due to 'lack of evidence' or, in other words, no confession and no intention of following it up.

Makes my blood boil, so it does.

Go up this morning hoping as it was Friday 13th that the day would go OK, got in my car and looked in my rear view mirror to see the car behind me had its passenger door open at the top and closed at the bottom, thinking I was seeing things I got out to take a look and discovered that someone had smashed his widow probably to steel his radio but he had taken the front off, they had then gone in his glove compartment to see if it was in there and for some strange reason they had then tried prizing the door open.

Had to go get the owner out of bed to tell him the bad news Friday 13th for him had a bad start hope it got better for him. :(

Beware every one in Hackenthorpe the little gits are back in the area nicking radios again.

my ex went to meadowhall shopping and rang me to say the car had been stolen,,, now in the past he had "lost"the car in meadowhall so i told him to look for it, an hur later he arrived at the door, dropped off by meadowhall security!!! the car was found a few days later. only damage was to the ignition!

police said it was probably a proffesional who took car to get from a-b without actually owning one!:suspect: :loopy:

My partner recently had his motorbike stolen from his garage.
The local police (this is in Hull) recovered it within a week - sadly, badly damaged and minus the wheels. It is a write off.
An alleged fence, who runs an alleged dodgy second-hand shop, and who had been under police survellience, has been arrested and charged. Court case still pending. The insurance company has paid up, but his insurance premiums will now rise.

That's the bizarre thing; if somebody else nicks your car, your premiums rise. I asked the AA and they said it was because they couldn't claim it of the thiefs insurance (obviously, how could he have insurance?) and so it was classed as a fault claim! How the hell is it my fault is some scrote wanders off with my car?
