I'm doing my husbands family tree and am trying to work out Dennis Bullivants branch as I know he was a cousin to my father in law Anthony Bullivant. Anyone who could tell me who his father was and especially grandfather was I'd be greatful. Love to hear from any Bullivants who think they might be related too.

If you know roughly when and where Dennis Bullivant was born, you should be able to find his birth entry in the G.R.O. index. Using the details given there (district, volume, page etc.) you can apply for the birth certificate (costs £7) which should give the information. If Dennis was born before 1930 you can look for his birth on freebmd.org.uk - I just did this and found a Dennis Bullivant born in Sheffield in April-June 1917.

Dennis may still be alive. I don't know as my husband has not had contact with the older members for some time. He liked or lives in the Earl Marshall area, his children went to the Earl Marshall school I believe. Anthony Bullivant was head there.

I just looked at the General Register Office index. This mentions a Dennis Bullivant born in Sheffield in April-June 1933 (his mother’s maiden name was Sellars). The relevant details are Volume 9c, Page 821. With these details you can obtain a birth certificate for £7 - either by filling in a form at the Sheffield Register Office (back of the Town Hall) or by applying on-line and paying by credit/debit card - for this, go to http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ and firstly click on "Register/Login" to register on the site.
According to the findmypast.com index, nobody called Dennis Bullivant died between 1984 and 2006. The BT phone book mentions a D. Bullivant in the area you mention. Good luck!
I knew a Dennis Bullivant from my schooldays. He lived on Hayward Road, Pitsmoor (little Hayward Rd that is). We were the same age, both born 1933. I remember he had an older brother Roy, and at least two sisters Ena and Betty. It's possible he also had another sister but I'm not sure about that. He was a short, stocky lad, a good swimmer. When he left school he went as an apprentice mechanic to Guilders the Armstrong Siddeley people almost opposite the City Hall. I hope this is of some interest.
