I am going for some in town on Friday but want to try and avoid my usual haunts so am trying to go to as many new or recently refurbed (last 6 months or so) pubs as possible.

So far I've planned the Bowery and Green (both new to me) and the Wig and Pen - not been since it's refurb.

Can anyone add any to this list for my pub crawl? Three isn't enough.

Vine's not really been done out as such, more of a makeover really.....all those posters across the wall have gone which is a bit of a shame and a new lick of paint, looks more welcoming to new peeps coming in now!

I've probably been before but where is the Vine it's escaped me.

Another thing, do you have to book to play the golf game things in Green? If not how does it work?

Vine is on Cemetary Road, a bit out of town - its the kind of pub you will either love or hate, not really in between!
If you look at some of my other posts you will see I mention the vine or promote nights down there! I love the place!

Oh thats a shame about the posters, there were some up there from about 15 years ago! I liked reading them, made it feel like a place of former glory, used to be there every Friday at one point, we lived a stumble away on Wostenholme Road. I'll have to check it out soon!

Also not quite in town, but the Notty in Broomhill was refurbished in June, looks a hell of a lot better, very welcoming now!

Please don't call it "The Notty" it sounds like some sad southern mummy's boy nickname for the place! Why Not just called it 'The Nottingham' or, 'Nottingham House!'

What's next everyone starts calling the Leadmill the "Leddy"

Green is a lounge bar as well as having golf simulator machines... you don`t have to play golf, you can just relax and have a beer or sth to eat. There are also plasma TV screens which show different sporting events. call in and have a look round.
