Does anyone remember the name of a drama group that met on a Sunday afternoon in a room at the back of the Leopold St education offices ? You went in a back door opposite the back of the City Hall.It was sometime in the early 70's.

Would that be "Meatwhistle" ? Used to go Sunday afternoons and have bubble & squeek made for us by some students. Made lots of craft items like vases out of wine bottles ect. Seemed like a more "grown-up" youth club . I seem to remember one of the main blokes name was Justin.(mid 70"s) Heard local pop groups also practised there although they were upstairs and did"nt take much notice - only to find out years later ,that it was the likes of Heaven 17,ABC, ect which gave rise to the Sheffield "electro - pop" revolution of the early 80"s!!!

That's it ,Meatwhistle. I've been trying to remember that for years. I remember people acting out comedy sketches they had written (which were all monty python type sketches and very rarely funny) I don't remember the band rehearsals.
