I bought this ages ago and finally got round to watching it last night. It's Bloody brilliant, watch it! I know there have been other threads about it but for people who have not seen or heard of it I thought I would start a new one!

'tis very hard to watch but extremely gripping and well acted

By far Shane Meadows' finest work in my opinion. Yeah it's not easy watching, and is pretty violent in parts, but it's also very realistic and Paddy Consadine is absolutely brilliant.

This is my favourite all time film.
I have watched it over and over again, its gripping, funny and hard hitting.
Very well acted, fantastic film, I recommend it to everybody.

I think "This is England" is a better Shane Meadows film, but "Dead Man's Shoes" is excellent too. Best option is to watch both.

I would'nt say this is England even comes close to deads mans shoes in all honesty its a good film but dead mans shoes is outstanding

I watched it about a year ago and loved it. Not to a lot of peoples taste but for me it was bang on.

I only watched it yesteday and want to watch it again!

Dead Man's Shoes is an amazing film, stark, moving and incredibly well cast and executed ( to pardon the pun). The first time I watched it I was completely blown away, it twists and turns and the story is believable, if a little 'otherworldly'.

I thought 'This is England' was an awesome film, but 'Dead Mans Shoes' is just brilliant, anyone watched Somers Town yet?

My girlfriend and me went to see it at The Showroom a few weeks ago. It's a lot more light-hearted than Dead Man's Shoes or This is England, and I still can't quite work out why it needed to be in B&W seeing as it is set in contemporary London. But it is an enjoyable film and well worth going to see.

It's brilliant although the ending was slightly predictable I wasn't sure if they were trying to make it a suprise but still an awesome film. I thought this is england ended a bit abruptly which put me off a bit.

Have to be honest and say I didn't see it coming. The title of the film should be a big giveaway though so I guess it was intentional.

I didn't find the plot especially full of twists, turns and surprises. It's a very good film, just not as awesome as made out by some people.

If you want a film with twists, turns and surprises try Blood Simple.

M. Emmet Walsh is a bit of a nut job in that movie, good film though :thumbsup:

I reckon watch it twice. The first time you are too :shocked: to notice all the funny parts. The scene where sonny doesn't know he has make up on is absolutely hilarious.

I thought the title was RE how each bully had a deathwish on there head- I never thought of it like that. Thanks :thumbsup:

I thought this film was brilliant.

I like 'This is England' but I thought it was overhyped. This one was much better.
