View Full Version : Blades win and Owls erm...win.
Rocklegend 27-09-2008, 17:58 A much better performance by The Blades today-and playing some good football.Kyle Naughton looks a real class act-playing like that will give Blackie a nice selection headache when Sun Jihai's back (Tuesday?).Speed ran the midfield and I don't think Morgan put a foot wrong. It was also nice to see Derby win at QPR;we might see less p**s taking over our result there now.
hurstyowl 27-09-2008, 18:12 great result for wednesday, judging by the match reports we were very lucky, for once. They hit the bar twice and we cleared one off the line, looks as though tudgay is showing his worth this year. 2 cracking goals and 3 cracking points.
Got to be happy with the points today given the performance.Hopefully its onwards and upwards starting tues and with a bit of luck could give Forest a good hiding.:thumbsup:
Great win for the Owls. Nice to see Small is back, sounds like a great goal- and Tudgay has made a great start to the season. :D
Roll on Forest, and as long as the traffic isn't too bad on the way to Plymouth I'm hoping for a win there too.
Off down town to celebrate!
I had more than a few reservations when I heard the team sheet but what the hell do I know? :hihi:
Well Laws and the blue and white wizards!

Wade Small scored the first and its supposed to have been a right CORKER lol, i,ll be the first to admit it was back to the walls at times today but From what i heard Wednesday defended well and resoloutly.
I must say one thing though every time we go on the ball in any opponents half apart from the Reading game, we look or sound very dangerous.
In my opinion apart from Hull Citys amazing performance a few minutes ago, Wednesdays was one of the results of the day.
Up the Owls still above the Blades with bottom of the league visiting Hillsborough on Tuesday night, happy time's :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

Bet Hull wouldn't have beaten the Arsenal juniors tho...

Dimitri 11 27-09-2008, 19:07 Happy that we got a win today and am not massively concerned that we didn't play blindingly brilliant as we needed a win to ease the pressure. Hopefully we can build on this and the recent criticism of Blacwell from some Blades fans will stop. Brian Howard is supposed to be signing on loan on Monday as well so I am glad about this also.
As for Wednesday the result today was excellent - backs to the wall at times or not. I would say pretty much all away wins in this league are good and Charlton are a potential top six side so it's even better for you.
Should add extra spice to the derby match if we are both in good positions in the league.
CorkerSWFC 27-09-2008, 19:11 I have to give a special mention to Marcus Tudgay who is going from strength to strength, he is one hell of a player at the moment, whenever a challenge is put upon him he more than likely passes the challenge.
he has played in allsorts of positions and never complained once, apparently he's a top down to earth fella aswell.
In my eyes Marcus Tudgay is a proven championship goalscorer, all the best to the lad, at 26 he's still got his peak to come maybe's he coming into it now.
NERVY-OWL 27-09-2008, 19:28 i do think he is underated by alot of people. i believe he would of got more last season if we hadnt of had to use him on the wing. would be good to see him and sodje up front when he returns, not sure if they ever had chance last season to play together up front
mr_busdriver 27-09-2008, 20:00 Blades Win = :|

Great win for both clubs ,listened to the Owls match on RS they played well and took a right battering but defended very well.

hurstyowl 28-09-2008, 10:20 we sold out the away end! i went last year, 2-0 up then lost 3-2, didnt fancy it again haha. Believe me, i didnt expect that result after they had scored the first.

yep.........
Robbie Loving 29-09-2008, 07:43 Well 3 points is 3 points, by no means a fantastic performance, but definately a great deal better. 1 or 2 impressed, but the remainder were ordinary, and we did play a poor Watford team. However I'm not trying to take away that we did actually improve.
Naughton looked fantastic on his first full debut, it was only the day before I was talking to my mate and saying I hope he gets given a chance. He was my MOTM
Speed was the only player when he got the ball to look and around and see what options was available for the pass, rather than hammer it forward.
2 good assists for Sharp, but he should have also had 2 goals to go with it.
As for the Owls fans, I said when Tudgay joined you have a good player there, I've only heard good things about him from Owls too, so looks like a steal.

I'm pleased with him so far, but I'm just hoping that he can keep up.
He had patches of good form last season also.

Marcus Tudgay is very underrated in my view, he's quick, a great battler, good in the air and can play in all sorts of positions.
It was his inconsistency what cost him in previous time's but he seems to have got quite a bit more consistent with age, he's at the age were players hit there peak so its hardly surprising that he's starting to take peoples attention.
