THE GUARDIAN:

West Ham are facing a fresh legal challenge over the Carlos Tevez affair with, up to a dozen players relegated with Sheffield United in 2007 considering suing the London club for a loss or earnings

Surely they should be suing the blades, as their wages would have come have been paid for by the blades out of the TV money which they are suing West Ham for?

In fact, I'm going to sue the blades as I might have wanted to sell hot dogs outside the ground on match day to premiership away fans, but didn't think the numbers would be good enough in the championship, so I've lost out on possible earnings too. etc etc etc.

That '£30m' seems to be dwindling away. :hihi:

United are only claiming about £30 mill, not the full £50-60 million which they'd have had as extra income; the reason for which, as far as I can tell, is precisely because their costs would have been higher had they stayed up.

If they were claiming the whole of the income they missed out on, you'd be right.

Brilliant...have you got a link?

I saw Old Big Nose on Look L**ds the other night saying he was considering legal action through the league managers association.

West Ham and all the other cheats deserve everything they get

Personally I think that there should be some sort of independent enquiry/investigation now into the whole affair as this has implications for the rest of football in the English Leagues.

Given the way they played against Arsenal's teenagers, they hardly deserve a pork chop between them.

If everybody starts suing for losses it's never going to end.

What about the southern Championship clubs who'd have made much more gate money from playing against West Ham than they got from the blades?

Will Wednesday have to give some money back because of the extra cash we got from the fact that we DID play them instead of West Ham?!

Not true.

The Blades are claiming for the FULL amount they would have lost out on for one season.

The £50-£60 million figure given is INCLUDING parachute payments and not just the solitary amount of one season.

So Frankie Sidebottom is right, the players should be claiming monies from the Blades if the full settlement figure is given.

Or maybe the blades players should be suing the West Ham players who would have got relegated but didn't, and should have had their wages cut but didn't.

And then all the pubs round Bramall Lane that lost revenue should sue the pubs round Upton Park that retained revenue etc.........

only the club and some back room staff cheated not pub landlords, pie sellers, or players. etc. think we should just stick to this.

come to think of it can i sue. i had to go to plymouth last year when i maybe should have only had to go to everton. hotel bills etc.

Yes the implications of West Ham cheating is endless. To be absolutely fair West Ham should have been relegated to League 1 or Champioship with -20 points but corruption is always a bed mate with money. Some of the refereeing decisions are so blatantly wrong one wonders whether a bet hasn't been placed on the result.

Can we get back on topic, some of the posts I've just deleted wouldn't go a miss in a playground
