OH has been adamant from the start that he would just wear a black suit and tie to the wedding, which considering his usual uniform is torn jeans and rigger boots it was a step in the right direction for me :hihi:. I dragged him to La Bella Brides today - and he's changed his mind and wants the full works
I'm only joking, I'm really chuffed he wants to get all trussed up, although I think its to make his mum happy. He looked gorgeous!
Not sure how I'm going to persuade others to wear the same outfit though, what is the etiquette here? I can't afford to pay to hire all of them, but I'd like his brother, best mate, my dad and brother to match. My dads already moaned about hiring, saying he expected to be buying a black suit that he could wear again :( I know money is an issue for everyone at the minute, and I've kept it as cheap as possible.

If all the other men of the party are wearing plain black suites then groom will stand out more - as he should do. You could just leave the rest of them as they are....

He was convinced he was going to buy himself a really nice black suit that he could wear again... until we went to Ashley Rogers and he tried on a tailcoat and he looked fabulous and was really smitten!

I think what Claret says is right.

But if you do want them all to match, how does this sound budget-wise:
£69 to hire: tailcoat, trousers, waistcoat, shirt, cufflinks, cravat & hankerchief (ie everything but his boxers and shoes!)

hire 4 suits, get 5th free - so thats £55 per outfit.
Apparently just the suit would be about £500 to buy, so £276 to hire 5 full outfits with all the trimmings is a bargain!

wow thats not bad at all! I'm going to see if they've got something similar to what he tried on today! The price is similar per suit at La Bella, and the service is good, but that discount makes a BIG difference!
