I watched it too yesterday, thought it was brilliant. Rather him than me with that poison- hate being sick at the best of times. I was just having some toast at the time really put me off.

Missed both of the episodes so far :(

Think they're both still available on demand, so hoping to get chance to catch up on them! I thought Tribe was excellent, so hope I do get chance!

They're only on for 7 days which is a shame, and the download facility is well confusing.

I recommend watching the current one though..


another excellent series!

I particulary like the third one in the series about the Matis tribe. I found it very moving and thought provoking. It's one of those series which I wouldn't mind buying and keeping when it comes out on DVD. Much like the Coast series with Neil Oliver:love:

I agree, Ep3 was the best so far. Very interesting to see the other side, when he stayed with the loggers.

Well we don't suffer from dysentery or have a life expectancy of 40, so I would say on the whole yes, we probably are.

Was just a random thought as I felt stressed and horrible and the thought of living in the Amazon seemed quite attractive!!

Bruce Parry's much more interesting than Michael Palin. If you've never seen any of his earlier series Tribe then do try to catch them when they're repeated on some of the digital channels.

Somehow I can't imagine M P allowing the tribe with whom he's living giving him septum piercings in their ritual ceremonies or similar.

LOL, nah I dont think our Michael would be up for the piercing! However, I do think there are similarities between BP and MP. Both of them have that slow, easy charm and they both show genuiune interest in the people they live with/interview etc.

What I find impressive about Parry is that he treats all the people he comes across equally and doesnt let his own morals or politics get in the way - the episode with the loggers was evidence of this.

He also has no problem sending himself up - check out some of the 'Danger 50000 Volts' stuff he did with Nick Frost:hihi:
