trillian aarghhhhhhhhhh i hate trillion, too fiddly, i tried it once and had windows covering windows when i was trying to chat.......i like my messengers/chat apps to be seperate really, 1 program for 1 job..............not jack of all trades, master of none :P

Well it IS one program for one job, it's an instant messenger. And I don't see why I should have to have 4 different programs running just because my friends can't agree on which one they like best.

3.x does seem a bit bloated, but I like the fact all the transports are now plugins so you need only install the ones you use. Not sure what you mean about windows covering windows though, I've never had that problem.

Okies then :)

Internet
IE & Konqueror - Can't stand mozilla or Fierfox and I have properly protected PC....

Robot4Rip + Gardian Knot
River Past Converter (for convertions only)

Mp3 ripping
dBpowerAMP Music Converter & dMC Audio CD Input - For CD rips and music conversion.
Steinberg's WaveLab - for recording any sound on your pc.

CD Writing
Writer is dead
I use Hard Drives, 4 is not enough, I need more ! You hear me ? MOoooORE !

compression
Winrar - Winzip is for pansies.

Media players
Media Player 10 (when I'm forced to)
Winamp (coz 3 & 5 or for pansies)
DivX Player
G-Spot Video codec detector (unbelievably indispensable).

Fileshare
DC++
I'll die before I use Bitorrent, the plague of filesharing.

FTP
Ws FTP 95

Codecs
all available codecs

graphics - design
PaintShopPro 7 only.

Security
If you consider those two to be AVs:
Spybot search and destroy
Adaware
and my trusty nuclear proof router.

Software like Acrobat Reader, AOL, Yahoo don't belong on my computer so I've banned them and it's been 3 years since the last Windows install and infection ;) Sweet
