i recently found a cool place to live, and went to sign contracts and chat with the landlord.
a problem arose so i said id think about it and get back to them in a coupla days, not signing just in case..
well the meetings and stuff are organised through one of the new housemates and she has gone off to work before moving in and isnt answering her calls or text msgs, so have no idea what is going on and if she has got someone else to move in. (that was what she suggested when the problem arose)
so im wondering whether shes got someone else and hasnt had the guts to tell me. i just want to know so i can look for somewhere else...
what should i do start looking for somewhere else or keep waiting??
There's no harm in looking around - just in case. Always best to keep your options open.
You could send a text to her saying something like: right, i'm all ready and packed and will be moving in this evening! Then if you turn up on the doorstep she'll have to talk to you.
PS: If you find the bed a bit crowded you'll know she's moved someone else in as well :heyhey:
I think I'd have difficulty living with somebody I can trust that much :(
If she has said she will replace you, and you don't want to move in - go with your instinct and flit. You may find you have the last laugh.
'Problems' you spot whilst house hunting rarely turn out to be 'nothing' ;)

yeah it was nothing in the end, Are you sure?
Set yourself a time to get in contact by, and if you get no joy by then - go for plan B.
It's difficult trying to get sorted when the market is so competetive, isn't it?
You are very right to be cautious though - a search round on here will reveal some nasty horror stories
Well if you've tried ringing again - and she know's you'll be ringing and isn't taking your calls - sorry mate but it sounds like plan B time.
Things usually have a habit of working out for the best. You'll probably find somewhere even better - think positive eh?!
And - Good Luck!

Borrow a friend's phone and call her from that, so she won't recognis the number.
That way you'll find out if she's avoiding talking to you
Good luck.

thanks guys, i thought of that too bout using someone elses phone... ill keep my options open. so then anyone got a cool pad going spare?!!!
Start a new thread, or ring John Brownhill (builder). His properties are really good, and he looks after them well. He sometimes knows of empty rooms in already-let houses he has.
Good luck
My old landlord was Denis Kay, Lapwater Farm S6 - I can give you his phone number if you want. He was brilliant. Well priced properties in great areas, everything from flats to houses. We stayed with him for 7 years and lived in three of his properties whilst studying at uni. He got stuff done, he complied with regulations, he was always fair and often open to negotiation. I have always recommended him - I once gave his number to a couple we met in the tourist information centre in Lyon and several friends have hapily lived in his flats following my recommendation. His stuff tends to be in the students areas, crookes, walkley, brooomhall.
