sorry for a new post but i just wanted to thank everyone with there help in raising the profile of the theft of Keavie's Guinea Pig.

This evening around 10.30 somebody returned the hutch with penny inside (minus the legs and crudely painted green)

Keavie is overjoyed, well all of us are.

:clap: Oh my God, thats FANTASTIC! I really didn't expect you to get her back, after misschick's posting about the other rabbit. Was very worried she'd fell into the wrong hands. Brilliant! Big hugs for Penny & keavie :banana:

Yes...I'd like to echo what Rich said really...(I have been out and therefore missed The Return) We are all SO grateful to everyone for help and support, its been fantastic to have so many people on our side, there for us.
Special thanks to Puddinburner, for bumping a lot and getting in trouble with the mods, and Teeny, for being so understanding about the hutch.
But all in all, HUGE thanks to everyone. We are all thrilled.
Oh, and the police are coming tomorrow morning at 9am. The irony.

I was out with MissChick at the time of The Return, and I think most of the local area heard her reaction when she got the call to say Penny had been returned! :hihi:

I'm so glad Penny's home safe and sound, even if the hutch has been damaged in an attempt to change it's appearance!

When I dropped MissChick home I went in and met the amazing boomerang Penny. She doesn't appear to be any worse for wear considering her absence, and it was heart-warming to see Keavie flaked out akip on the sofa. It's probably the first time that little lass has slept properly since Tuesday. The whole family were overjoyed, and it was fantastic to witness it.

Tonight a little girl's heart was healed, but let's not forget the other children whose pets are still missing........

That is fantastic news! I've been dropping in on this thread regularly to see if Penny had been returned. Now let's hope the other missing pets turn up! I must admit I did think that Penny had been taken for reasons other than to be a pet for someone else but it seems not. Makes it all even more unbelievable - guinea pigs aren't exactly expensive and I'm sure they could get a reasonably priced hutch from somewhere. But oh no, so much easier to help yourself to someone else's without a thought for the pain and heartbreak of the pet's owners. :-(

The police are still dealing with the theft, and are also looking into the theft of the other girls rabbit. We are hopeful that the rabbit may be returned too (there was a bit of a local 'thing' went on last night, its a long story but lets just say we are not ruling it out!)

Ya, without going in to detail obviously what happened, some local toe-rag I bet.

We dont actually KNOW them, no, but their existence was brought to out attention, along with the fact that they appeared to have 'gained' pets over the last few days. Its a bit difficult to say much more ATM hun, but suffice to say it looks like we may have the outcome we want...
