We have been given an hamster and cage and ive just bought him a bigger cage, the problem is where to keep him.

His cage is a large 3 tier open wire with rotastak attachments.

In the living room?
We have a cat!!

In sons bedroom?
Who is only 16 months old, not sure if he will keep my son awake at night, also when he goes into a bed, making sure he doesnt want to "play" with him and let him out etc...

I would preffer the living room, but concerned over the cat.

I would put him in the living room, and i would make sure the cage is very secure so the cat can not open it, try using a tiny padlock on the door, to secure it for safety.

I would put him in the living room and make sure you never leave the cat in there with him. My 2 cats never bother with mine even though they don't they bother i never leave them with access to the hammys

The cat doesnt know he is upstairs yet, well i dont think he does. The cat isnt allowed in the living room when im not there, unless ive nipped upstairs etc... He can get into the kitchen through his flap, but ive not allowed him to the room when not in, as he brings in dead mice - which is why im worried.

I dont want to go upsetting the cat in anyway.
