I'd like to create a blog to link in with my forum.
My basic needs are:
Multi-logins for my admins
Photos and images space
easy to use and edit
Free, naturally ;)
easy on the eye
where do you think is best for me?

Wordpress is great if you have to time the install it and have the necessary web design skills to create your own theme and everything. I'm looking into re-building my whole site using my own Wordpress theme but it's going to be a big job so i'm putting it off!
I do run a little blog on my site at the moment, this is run through blogger - google's own blogging service.

Wordpress is fabulous, and there are plenty of free themes out there that you can customise.
Setup is pretty simple, and the support forums are also very good.
I'll second wordpress if you're sticking it on your own server - its free, easyish to install and simple to use. That is of course if the server that your site is on has the neccesary specs. Assuming you dont need to tailor it too much to do anything fancy you dont really need any skills to start using it, but there are so many features and plugins its the type of thing you end up tinkering endlessly! Wordpress is often used as a base for quite complicated sites, but as a blog its simple.
If you're talking about blogs that host themselves you'll struggle to get much room for images etc, though worth a look.

If you need some cheap hosting I'll sort it out and stick a wordpress install on for free?

I use Photobucket to host my pix, can I get around the space by just keeping them there and uploading them?

No, if the picture is displayed on your blog then it's using up your space, unless you just use a link to the picture without displaying which some forums (such as this one) do.
You'd need to have a look at the hosted blogs and see what space allowance they give you and see if its suitable, you may find they will do for you. Remember that if you compress all your images before you load them you should be able to go a while without running into space issues if you get a decent allowance.
A quick google tells me that you get a 300mb limit for images with blogger - though dont have an option to delete old images to free up space.
I see. Thanks for your help Floyd. I'll have a play and see how things pan out, may I bug you if I need any more help please?

Don't forget if you getting wordpress, to get search engine friendly url's, using the all-in-seo pack, otherwise nobody will find you.
All they will see is index.php/id=0, etc, etc
