Hey Guys!

Well I'm pretty new to these parts after moving back to Sheffield after being at uni for 3 years! I'm a director/actor looking for people to work with on some projects which hopefully we can continue to develop. I tried to post a link along with this post with some of my work and a link to my page but I'm not allowed because this is my first post (:suspect:). Sounds cool. Could be worth getting onto the South Yorkshire Film-makers Network mailing list (http://syfn.org/) as Rob (Speranza, the man behind it all) send out regular updates on projects after crew etc, and also any meetings, screenings, and the like.

Hey!! Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunatly before I can post you think link on here I have to have at least 5 posts so if you go to youtube, search for 'unrendered' its the 14th video down, and says something about a music video for 'Meek' in its description and the still is of a guy with his back to us wearing a grey hoodie. Its pretty rough, it was my first attempt at directing for film and we only had a single camera and no lighting, so with that in mind I hope you like it!!

I would be very interested to know fellow film makers in the area. I'm currently making a super-8mm short film, in the horror vein, and perhaps one or two crew members would not go amiss. I would also be interested to work as a crew member on other folk's films

Alas, most of these networks charge a membership fee, so precludes the likes of me. I find mandy.com to be the best source for such matters, as they allow one posting for free per month

I am a little late on this thread but I have a couple of years experience working as a production coordinator/manager. Also have a degree in Broadcasting so I should be useful. Very keen to meet others to make films. I am looking to produce but would also like a small amount of creative influence.

any editing jobs people are willing to pay for i'm always willing i currently have to use college equipment but gathering money to get my own first on the list for me is final cut studio.

You can sign up for the SYFN bulletins for free. Rob might offer you membership (it has benefits including money off at all kinds of relevant hire facilities, shops etc) but you don't need to take it. The bulletin is the best and pretty much the only way of guaranteeing that you stay in touch with what's going on in SY for filmmaking types.

You can post to the bulletin for free as well so you could ask for crew members to get in touch etc...

I set up the network in 2004 with Rob then moved on to other things and left it to him...
